Some of you may be aware of the case of Father Gerald Robinson - a priest from Toledo Ohio who killed Sister Margaret Ann Pahl in 1980, but was not convicted until just this year. It was a fascinating case - the only time a priest was ever convicted of killing a nun.
There was DNA found under the Sister's fingernails and on her panties. However, it excluded Father Robinson. Dean Mandros, the assistant Lucas County Prosecutor was quoted on page 203 in the book about Sister's death entitled, "Sin, Shame, Secrets. The Murder of a Nun, the conviction of a priest, and cover-up in the Catholic church" as stating the following:
"Mandros said renowned forensics expert Dr. Henry Lee told him that he once conducted a test to see how easy it is for DNA to be transferred to an object. Doctor Lee said he bought a package of men's underwear from a department store, opened it in his laboratory, and tested for DNA evidence immediately - and he found some."
Very interesting considering what we know about the supposed DNA found under JonBenet's fingernails and on her underwear. I have always believed that it was not related to JonBenet's murder, but somehow transferred inadvertantly. . . isn't that what is meant by "artifact?"
At any rate, I thought you might find this interesting. If you are interested in learning more about the Father Robinson case you can go here:
