Does anyone have any comments on the dedication in the front of DOI:<ol><b><i>For JonBen&eacute;t
    Wherever we go...
Whatever we do...</i></b></ol>Why does this remind me of Patsy's recent quote from the Globe:<ol>"The 46-year-old socialite recently told pals that she expects to go to heaven, meet JonBenet, give her a hug and say, 'Can we talk now?"</ol>BTW: Here are the full lyrics from "Together" a song from the musical "Gypsy."

(Plot synopsis: Stage mother forces daughter into burlesque.)

    <b>Together (Wherever We Go)
by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim
    From the musical comedy "Gypsy"</b>

Wherever we go, whatever we do,
we're gonna go through it together.
We may not go far, but sure as a star,
    wherever we are, it's together.

Wherever I go I know he goes.
Wherever I go I know she goes.
No fits, no fights, no feuds
    and no egos, Amigos, together!

Through thick and through thin, all out or all in.
And whether it's win, place or show.
With you for me and me for you,
we'll muddle through whatever we do.
    Together, wherever we go.

Wherever we go, whatever we do,
we're gonna go through it together.
Wherever we sleep, if prices are steep,
    We'll always sleep cheaper together.

Whatever the boat I row, you row.
    A duo
Whatever the row I hoe, you hoe.
    A trio.
    And any I. O. U., I owe you-oh's?
    Who, me-oh? No, you-oh.
    No, we-oh.
    Together!

    We all take the bow
    Including the cow,
though business is lousy and slow.
    With Herbie's vim, Louise's verve,
Now all we need is someone with nerve.

    Together
    Together
    Wherever
    Wherever
    Together, wherever,
    Together, wherever we go.

    We go in a group,
    We tour in a troupe.
We land in the soup, but we know
the things we do, we do by threes.
    A perfect team.
    No "this way, Louise"!

    Together
    Wherever
    Together, wherever we go!</ol>

    Thanks for that reminder, Dunv

I'm sure it's a song Patsy would have had rehearsed for their next Charlevoix talent fest.

Somehow I don't see her singing it with John instead...although I'd pay big bucks to hear him sing "You hoe" to her.

    Wasn't?

Wasn't that song supposedly one of JBR's favorites?

    Good God

    That song is just rancid.

    how ironic

(Plot synopsis: Stage mother forces daughter into burlesque.)

    Says it all to me.

Fly, I glanced at DOI and didn't see it mentioned as her favorite song. The chapter "Like mother, like daughter" mentions some songs JB sang, that one isn't mentioned there.

Personally, I think it is one of Patsy's favorites...

I've lead a sheltered life...don't know the song and didn't see gypsy............. from what I've read tho I can see me and my kids singing it together.

I think I'll try to download it and see what it is.

Vic - Perhaps you're right, and it was PR's not JR's favorite. I seem to remember reading something about the two of them enjoying singing it together. Might be faulty memory, of course.

    Funeral

The song was played at Jonbenet's funeral in
    Atlanta at Patsy's request.

Looks like it was their favorite song

As they traveled to competitions, mother and daughter would sing their favorite song, a tune from ''Gypsy,'' a musical and movie about a mother obsessed with making her daughter a star.

''Wherever we go, whatever we do, we're gonna get through it together,'' they would sing, a minister told mourners at JonBenet's funeral.

    Tacky

I can't believe they played that at her funeral.

There's a certain "we're in this together" subtext I'm not sure I even want to delve into.

    dang it

I've searched high and low looking for some small connection to relate to Patsy as a mother.

.....thought I'd found something till I saw that she played this at her funeral. Is there anything normal about this woman.... it's a shame her obsession touched JB even in death.

    NO WAY!

This is from a musical about a stage mother whose daughter becomes the most famous STRIPPER in history! After Salome and the Dance of the Seven Veils.

It's based on a TRUE STORY, for heaven's sake. They played this at a child's funeral? Those people are truly demented.
