Thank you ACR

and thank you Steve for being who you are. Justice must prevail - it's simply taking it's own sweet time.

I wonder how the swamp will spin this?

Thank you, ACR...For now, I'm just going to repost...

... the message I wrote to Steve Thomas on his birthday early this year. I still believe it states my feelings in full:
I've always considered Steve Thomas a moral man caught in an extraordinary situation who yet, somehow, remained true to his moral compass. He's stood steady even when he found himself caught in the dead-center eye of a whirlwind that spun and twisted those less simply and straight-forwardly dedicated to truth and justice.

Steve Thomas remained true to justice for JonBenet.

If I needed a fighter for truth and justice, to investigate and remediate a horrific crime against an innocent loved one, there is nothing I could imagine asking of anyone that Steve Thomas did not take it upon himself to do in his investigation of the murder of JonBenet Ramsey.

Steve Thomas did not have to pursue the truth in the Ramsey murder case. All but a rare few stood fast when Ramsey push became Ramsey shove. It is common human defense to abandon a higher standard of justice, when if you do not you will find yourself in direct contention with vindictive money, violent power, and desperately egotistical self-preservation.

Many others involved in this murder shrank away from the pursuit of any ideal of justice in this case to retire to the safety of their private lives.

Steve Thomas remained true to justice for JonBenet.

I do owe Steve Thomas more that the lesson of this example.

One thing Steve Thomas lives by, that was handed down to him, is the phrase: "Do the right thing."

I don't believe I ever heard that phrase in any real way until I heard Steve Thomas say it. The example of his life, and the extraordinary hardship he and his family endure because of his practice of this ethical Occam's Razor, is profound to me.

His refused to be deterred from this value. No matter the enormity of his struggle, no matter the enormous impact of well-off suspects using their prosperity like a bludgeon to save themselves from answering to justice.

The Ramseys fight to escape indictment in a capitol crime. A crime where it is possible that a convicted defendant could face the death sentence.

Theirs is a fury born of desperation.

It is also easy to join the ranks of those who coddle suspects and defendants...all publicized murderers draw their dedicated cadre of psychological and often even pathological "groupies" and devotees. The better off financially the suspected murderer, the greater the hanger-on pool. This is a known syndrome. The Ramsey murder case is no different.

In contrast, Steve Thomas steadily maintained a thankless dedication to that transcended all impediments. Steve Thomas set out to represent the powerless and silent victim.

Steve Thomas represented a murdered child.

He could not be, charmed, flattered, intimidated, coopted, or bought.

The only meaningful reward for him, in this case, is justice.

Steve did not claim to walk a mile in the victims shoes...he instead made a promise to the victim.

Our judicial system now provides many protections for defendants. One of the things our present legal system often poorly provides is protections for the murder victim or even those who advocate for the victim. It is seldom we have strong champions like Steve Thomas that do the work necessary for us to truly hear the voice of the silenced.

It's interesting how one person willing to whistle-blow, or stand firm against a malevolent and resourceful suspect, can inspire a renewed belief in mankind.

I owe Steve Thomas for his igniting in me a renewed belief in character and moral perseverance (especially after the O.J. Simpson case where money bought injustice and a license to kill.)

I owe Steve Thomas' example for my renewed belief in action in the face of victimization. I owe Steve Thomas for enhancing and reinforcing my belief in the judicial system. I owe Steve Thomas for his example and strength of character.

I have learned from this case the simple truth that there is both a practical and moral reason that there is no statute of limitations on murder.

    Ultimately truth becomes inexorably undeniable.

It only needs one person with extraordinary and unshakable devotion to champion it with an indefatigable courage.

...Steve...you've set a standard for which we are all grateful: you do the right thing.
I've been patiently waiting for Steve Thomas himself to speak his peace.

He has done so with indesputable grace.

And he has done the right thing.

For many months now people have been speculating as to why Steve Thomas "settled" with the Ramsey's.

Well my friends good things come to those who wait.

The Ramsey dark side spoke waaaay too soon when they claimed victory in this settlement.

    Some of the hightlights:

Not one red cent was paid by Thomas to the Ramseys.

Thomas was NOT the one who approached the Ramsey's.

Thomas admits no wrong doing and he can still sell his book and continue to speak.

Now my friends let me ask you..if you wanted to prove your innocence by bringing the man who called you a killer to his knees would you:

-settle without him paying any money to you

-settle with him with the agreement that he can still sell the book where he called you a murderer

-settle with him and still allow him to speak out about how your murdered your child....

What kind of settlement is that? I'll tell you. It's the kind of settlement from a killer who wants this to go away. It got toooo close. The Ramsey's were going to be deposed by one of the great attorneys in the world...THE RAMSEY'S BLINKED.

Thomas did not approach the Ramsey's.

    Thomas paid no money.

    Thomas admits no wrongdoing....

To the swamp skank who posted at 3:00 am one March morning crowing about how all the money raised for Thomas went to the Ramseys...this is for you...you know where to put it..I hope it's comfortable...NOT.

Lin...before you start sending information to swamp skanks..(oh yes we KNOW you do ) perhaps you should get your facts straight. This is not a victory for you clients.

LIN WOOD THIS JUST PROVES HOW GUILTY PATSY IS .

Go spend so more time with your horse Lin. I bet he misses you...

Try telling the truth for once Lin...The Truth Will Set You Free..Tell that to Patsy too...

On behalf of ACandyRose and myself thank you for all who stood by Steve Thomas when it looked like his chips were down. Now we know the truth.

If there is one person on this planet that deserves some happiness, a lot of happiness that person is Steve Thomas.

Think about what he has done. From day one. Steve Thomas has only sought one thing and that is the truth. Because Thomas searched for the truth and spoke the truth his life was turned upside down. However Thomas refused to back down..

Steve Thomas can hold his head high and know he did the right thing.

PATSY I WISH I COULD LOOK YOU RIGHT IN THE EYE AND TELL YOU...YOU ARE GOOD FOR IT...

    Go to hell...

    Steve Thomas's statement

I hardly know how to respond to Steve Thomas's statement.

Steve Thomas has been one of the few points of clarity and moral sanity in the entire Ramsey debacle.

I wish I had his courage.

I am very relieved that he has not allowed the Ramseys to bully him.

I am very relieved that he has not had to pay them any money whatsoever.

I can't imagine what we can do to show how much we appreciate his bravery and dedication to the truth, but I think I'll start by doing the right thing.

    Let it be known

and henceforth and all that rot, that I knew it. Yes, I did, I knew it - not from any official source such as Steve Thomas, but in my heart I trusted and knew ST did not betray his supporters. I also knew that some day Steve would set the record straight.

In spite of what some may still think, Steve Thomas was never my hero. He's a flesh and blood man with the same challenges any other human being faces. He was the only voice for JonBenet Ramsey who had the courage to speak out against the corruption that is Boulder politics. To those who believe he damaged the case, I would say, the case was destroyed beyond redemption by Hunter et al before Thomas ever thought about writing a book about the case. That was precisely the reason for his book, I believe - to expose the scum in the DA's office as well as some in the police department.

I never have said, and I never will say that ST is perfect. But, then, who among us is? All the lies and spin from the swamp have been exposed again. Jameson lied when she said Thomas paid the Ramseys money. I hold both her and Lin Wood in contempt for the lies they have propagated, for the scorn they have shown ST - and others who dare to speak out against the Ramseys while shielding the Ramseys from the same standards they apply to others. It's also interesting to note that just about everyone who was associated with the Ramseys and December 25-26, 1996, and some who were nowhere near there, have been affected adversely by it - unless they threw in with the Ramseys. That tells a story all by itself.

My father, the epitome of the meaning of a man of integrity, always told us that a real man does not have to resort to lies and subterfuge. A real man takes a stand for what he believes to be right and true. A real man accepts no substitutes for the truth, no matter what. And, a real man stands with courage against all that is wrong, even in the face of ridicule. My dad was a real man. In my estimation, so is Steve Thomas.

I am glad Steve has moved on, and I wish him well in his future endeavors.

    I am so happy...

That we finally know the truth. ST is truly an honorable human being. I am glad that he will finally be able to go on with his life. He deserves to finally be free.

I am so angry with the Ramsey's, Woody, and the Swamp Mistress for spreading misinformation. (I hope that is a word!) The Ramsey's were the ones that approached him, not the other way around, and they didn't get anything except the money. Their motive could not be any clearer in my eyes. When are they going to stop making money off of that poor child? Ever?

And to Patsy, remember, "You reap what you sow." Someday, Patsy, you and Lizard Lips are going to have to answer to someone about your lying, underhanded dealings in regard to your daughter's death.

I wish ST the best that this world has to offer him, and hope that he is able to finally put all of this mess behind him.

I just have a few words for you:

God Bless You! I am so proud of the fact that Steve stood up to the Ramsey's and never let them try to threaten him or stop him from talking about what he truly believes happened that night in the hell hole. ....Steve you are a real man and we know the truth....the Ramsey's will get their punishment but unfortunately, it won't be here on earth..they can continue suing everyone and trying to get more money. But, once they meet our creator, all of these foolish games will be over...

My fellow FFJ viewers, justice will be served, I promise you...

Steve Thomas - You are my hero...Please don't stop fighting the fight because we are right here and we are right beside you.

Well said! I wish everyone in the JBR case had the integrity that ST has. Then, JBR would have had justice on earth.

Tricia, I loved your post! You said everything that I was thinking!

I couldn't add a thing to all the posts here. Not a thing. Each and every one of you said it so well. Steve, I hope you're reading this. You're a great guy.

Lin Wood is a puke. Along with his goddamned clients. The Lizard from hell and the Drama Queen. Hope you all go to one place after you leave this earth. It will not be with JonBenet.

    I wish.....

I wish I could find a small animated paper airplane graphic with the words on it "Steve Thomas' letter" and then make it a signature graphic and add the words, "Bend over and RAM this where the sun don't shine."

Anything Linn Wood says, well, it's a safe bet that the turth is pretty much the exact opposite of anything that comes out of his mouth. So when he yammered about reaching a settlement for his clients I was like whoa--slow down there, Cowboy. You can imply that the whole mess turned out in the Ramsey's favor but most of us non-dummies knew better than to accept this version of the story without the facts. I am SURE both sides could not afford to pay parasites like Wood so both sides settled. BFD.

I one time saw a tape of Wood interacting with the BPD and he was without question the most arrogant pompous *** I'd ever seen. He spoke to those officers as if they were garbage and I was hoping one of the guys would have pulled a Rodney King on him but sadly that didn't take place. I can still fantasize, can't I? I hate bullies.

I want to make sure certain skanks understand this settlement.

First of all Skank Mistress claimed on hir forum (right after the phone call she got from Lin Wood I am sure) that all the money raised for the Steve Thomas defense fund went to the Ramsey settlement....

Now the spin has started...from the Ramsey dark side.

The actual amount paid is obviously not being revealed. Who paid what to whom is not being revealed. It really could be one dollor paid to the Ramsey's. It could be...in fact it wouldn't surprise me. However Thomas paid nothing...

Thomas can still sell the book...GET IT??? THE BOOK WHERE HE CALLS PATSY A MURDERER....

If I were the Ramseys I would fire Lin Wood. What kind of settlement is that?

In other words the Ramseys did not stop Steve Thomas one bit. He is in the exact same position as he was the night he look Patsy in the eye and said "You're good for it"..

The only difference is Thomas is out his life savings due to attorney's fees brought on by this crap...That was the goal of the Ramsey's. To try and ruin him for speaking the truth.

Guess what? They didn't do it.

Thomas spoke the truth..he still does.

Money can be earned and saved over and over again.

Your integrity, you word...once it's lost...it's gone for good.

Thomas still has his integrity..his word...

The Ramsey's probably have a dollor settlement and nothing else.

    Actually,

there is nothing the skank CAN say. She lied, and she knows it.

I guess one could say Steve took the wind out of her sails. But, don't worry, she'll be back with even bigger lies - that's her modus operandi.
