Couple Says JonBenet Article Implicated Them In Sex Ring Special Prosecutor Requested Second Time By D.A. Posted: 11:21 a.m. MDT October 23, 2002 BOULDER, Colo. -- The Boulder County District Attorney's Office made a second request for a special prosecutor Tuesday to review a case that alleges criminal libel by the Daily Camera newspaper and other media in their coverage of the unsolved murder of JonBenet Ramsey. ***snip District Attorney Mary Keenan said the new motion came at the request of the Whites, who tried to get the Colorado Attorney General's Office involved in the investigation. The motion states that it had not been the Whites' intent to place their matter in a "dead end" with special prosecutors. "Our position is someone needs to look at it," Keenan said. ***snip The Boulder Police Department issued a press release in May 2000 stating it found no evidence that the woman's claims were valid. ***snip The case was assigned to the Pueblo County district attorney because of a conflict of interest with the Boulder County District Attorney's Office. The case was later terminated.
