Have you ever thought who would help if someone in your family is missing? Now you can find out that information and also help support two Search and Rescue organizations.

A silent auction will be held. Auction items include a Hawaiian condo rental, airplane tickets, hotel room stays, dinner for 2, and much more. Donations will also be accepted.

All proceeds go to fund Travis County Search and Rescue and Texas EquuSearch . The concert is sponsored by the Cooke family, whose 19-year-old daughter Rachel Cooke disappeared near their Georgetown, Texas, home on January 10, 2002.

    Donations

Here is the donation form. You can cut and paste it into a document and send it in. If anyone wants to send a cash donation, they can mail it to the same address. As soon as I finish the non-profit incorporation, I will open a bank account for donations.

Music for the Missing Donation Form

On Sunday, April 6, 2003, the Rachel Alert Network will present the first
ever Music for the Missing Concert. The concert is being presented to
raise awareness of the missing person problem in the United States and to
raise money for organizations which help bring missing persons home.
Businesses and individuals are asked to donate items or services to be
included in a silent auction at the event. All proceeds from the concert
go to Texas EquuSearch and Travis County Search and Rescue.

The Rachel Alert Network, or RAN, is an organization which helps prevent
abductions through awareness education and provides information to friends
and families of abducted persons. Robert and Janet Cooke, the parents of
missing youth Rachel Cooke, formed RAN in 2002 to help other parents and
loved ones of missing persons. For more information about RAN:
    www.rachelalert.org.

Travis County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3)
charitable corporation of volunteer SAR Technicians, K-9s, Medics, Swiftwater
Rescue Technicians, and Search Managers that has provided search and rescue
services at no charge throughout Central Texas since 1993. TCSAR is a
registered First Responder Organization with the Texas Department of Health,
an organizational member of the National Association for Search and Rescue, a
member of the Austin/Travis County Emergency Medical System, and it is active
in APD SAR. New inexperienced members are also welcome. www.tcsar.org.
    Emergency pager: 512-307-8467

Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery was formed in 2000 to provide
volunteer horse-mounted SAR for lost and missing persons. TES's existence and
purpose are dedicated to the memory of Laura Miller, a young woman abducted
and murdered in 1984, and the daughter of TES director Tim Miller. TES is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Many members are trained in various rescue
skills, such as CPR, and in advanced lifesaving skills. Other resources
include horse riders, foot searchers, water divers/boats, air, dog teams, and
    4x4's. For more information: www.texasequusearch.org.

An effort to bring home missing persons is getting a boost from the music community.

The Rachel Alert Network will present the first-ever Music for the Missing Concert.

Al White and Dave Jorgenson will put on a free show Sunday, April 6 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Dallas Night Club on Burnet Road.

The concert is designed to raise awareness of the problem of missing persons. Donations will be collected for organizations that help bring home missing persons.

In addition to the free concert, a silent auction will be held.

All proceeds from the concert go to Texas EquuSearch and Travis County Search and Rescue, organizations that have participated extensively in the search for Rachel Cooke.

The Rachel Alert Network helps prevent abductions through awareness education and provides information to friends and families of abducted persons. The organization was founded by the parents of Rachel Cooke, who disappeared in January 2002.

    Golf Anyone?

We have golf, golf, golf, rounds of golf with cart for 2 or 4 people from three different country clubs and one public coarse.

Gift baskets are coming in. With Texas units suffering the most loses and captures in the war with Iraq, wouldn't it be nice to send "A Taste of Texas" to some of the other men and women in the Texas units. I saw on TV tonight how the Red Cross will send it to "da boys" for you.

    BACA

The local Austin chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) contacted me with an offer to help with Rachel and the other missing. The Salt Lake City chapter of BACA helped distribute Elizabeth Smart's flyers. BACA will help distribute flyers and hopefully they will have several members in attendance at the concert on April 6 and the Run/Walk for Rachel on May 17. I have invited BACA to set up a table at the Run/Walk. Several volunteer agencies will be at that event to tell the public what they do.
