10:09 AM CDT on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 KVUE.com The Rachel Alert Network, founded by Robert and Janet Cooke in honor of their missing daughter Rachel, is sponsoring a self-defense class in Georgetown on Monday. The free class will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church gymnasium, 4010 Williams Drive in Georgetown. The class will be targeted for females 14 years and older. Chief Deborah Brown of the Southwestern University Police Department, the instructor of the class, has presented the M.U.S.T. (Mentally Useful Safety Techniques) seminars to over 38,000 women and senior adults in a 3-state area, according to a release by the Rachel Alert Network. Rachel Cooke disappeared while jogging near her parents' Georgetown home on Jan. 10, 2002. Her whereabouts have remained a mystery despite massive searches and publicity concerning her case. Her father, Robert Cooke, maintains a journal on KVUE.com detailing his efforts to find his oldest daughter.
