Patsy Just Sat There

It always bothered me that Patsy didn't run to her baby as soon as John screamed he found her.

These comments from Arndt gives us a look at the time frame:

Arndt: - "I see John Ramsey carrying JonBenét up the last three steps from the basement. And, um, and my mind exploded. I mean it literally, I saw black with thousands of lights. And everything that I had noted that morning that stuck out, instantly made sense. (pause, sigh) And JonBenét was clearly dead. And she's been dead for a while. I knelt next to her and I leaned down to her face. And John leaned down opposite me, and um, his face was just inches from mine...(pause, breath) and we had, um, a nonverbal exchange that I will never forget. And he asked if she was dead. And I said yes, she's dead. And I told him to go back to the room and to dial 911."

Arndt: I took JonBenét. I moved her from the hallway to the, um, the living room. I carried her just with the, the forearms. And I was cognizant that she was my sole responsibility, and the preservation of her was my responsibility. And was careful how I carried her, out of this pathway of heavy traffic. And I put her in the living room. She looked like she was sleeping. John Ramsey came back and he says, "can we please, could you please cover her body?" And as he's saying it, he's already put the blanket on top of her."

"Arndt: John was next to JonBenét and, he did, uh, I guess his good-bye. And, uh, I heard, a wail, just a guttural, moan, aching wail from the back area. And, it was, uh, probably one of the most pitiful things I've heard and anguished. And I saw the rest of the people; Patsy and the pastor and the four friends, come from the den towards the living room. And, there's just so much, there's so much pain. (long pause) And tears, and noise."

Sooooo.... Patsy is sitting in the other room, while John brings the body upstairs and places JB in the hallway, and Patsy is sitting in the other room when John and Arndt have a nonverbal exchange and John is asked to call 911, and Patsy is sitting in the other room while Arndt moves the body from the hallway to the living room, and Patsy is still sitting in the other room when John covers JB with a blanket, AND THEN Patsy makes her entrance.........

Of course she waited! She had to make the "grand entrance!" She also had to wait for John to mess up the scene. That way everything would be compromised, so that anything the BPD got off of the body would be rendered useless!

Not to mention, Patsy knew what she'd find, and...

...she didn't "want to go there, Pal!"

I always thought this was strange, too. And didn't ask more questions (where was she, etc). Here's another quote from Thor, Jammy, take it & run.

Like.."WHERE did you find her?" ... for starters!!

Patsy didn't ask

"Where did you find her" because she already knew where John found JB.

Doi, paperback, page 23

After JonBenet is found and Patsy does her 'help me jeezus' thing....John says..."I watch Patsy kneel down and curl up in a corner behind the china cabinet like a frightened child. She seems to be praying or muttering to herself."

What was Patsy hiding from?

What?

Now that is really strange....

And still

She just sits there. What with Patsys' proclivities for planning and organizing and being in the limelight, why does she not push for the murderer of her daughter to be found? Why is the Ramsey website still such a pathetic joke?

"John and Reve Walsh, Adam’s parents, dedicated themselves to changing the system. As a result of their efforts, the 1984 Missing Children’s Act was passed."

" After his daughter’s murder, Klaas became an advocate for children, giving up the ownership of a Hertz Rent-A-Car franchise at the San Francisco airport in order to devote his full attention to his new role. A year after becoming a board member of the Polly Klaas Foundation, Klaas formed his own organization, The Marc Klaas Foundation for Children which lobbied for stronger laws to protect children and keep violent, repeat offenders behind bars. "

I realize this is not new information, but think it deserves to be mentioned again. The fact that the story of Jonbenets murder has reached International coverage and interest is all the more reason and opportunity for the Patster to DO SOMETHING!

yeah, Mort

It does seem shockingly obvious they've done NOTHING. They've talked big but gotten no results, perhaps because they've taken no real action.
There are many, many parents of murdered children out there that have made a difference after their children have been killed. They have gotten new legislation passed, the Amber bill comes to mind, there are others. They form groups to help other parents, they take an active role in the prosecution of the killers ie: they work with the police.
The Ramsey's however, spend time trash talking everyone who doesn't believe their innocence. And spend time with a real, on-the-case- cop. Get real. The answer is NO.
They travel, they write a self-serving book, they spend quality time with their lawyer, Patsy gets her hair and nails done... JonBenet Who?

Plus the fact...

John stated even if it took every dime he made, he'd find JonBenet's killer.

Hah!.... they don't even have the reward money anymore!

that's how I would be.. hysterical and run to the baby and scream and cry... and I don't know what else but I wouldn't be sitting there at all... how can someone just sit there... I'd be going through the house frantic just to do something...

patsy KNEW she was dead, that's why she didn't have to run in there to check for herself.

What a *******.

Premature Acceptance

Patsy never had the need to find out Who, What, Where, Why, and How her only daughter was murdered.

However, she did feel the need to grab her fur coat on her way out when leaving her only daughter's little body. Maybe that is what gave her enough strength to not be angry and wanting to move on with their lives one mere week later on CNN.

Yeah, right.....

A long fur coat can only cover your arse for so long before it starts to get mangey. Just a thought.

Although it would be reasonable...

...if a mother waiting for word of her daughter's condition during a kidnap scenario to freeze if someone told her "Patsy, she's dead"...it is far less likely for a mother to freeze if people are shouting, "JonBenet's been found!"

I'm not near my books...but wasn't the cry something like, "she's been found!"...and didn't the women with her get Patsy on her feet and literally "compel" her to move towards the living room (obviously, her keepers were reacting more normally, and felt that they and Patsy should be in the living room where the cries about finding JonBenet originated. No one in the sunroom knew that JonBenet was dead when John brought her body upstairs in the bizarre way he did.

And, RR...didn't Patsy pull that fur OVER her head to hide her face when she left the house?

I defy you to find me ONE case where an innocent parent of a murdered child did this.

You don't see John Walsh, Marc Klaas, or other innocent parents of murdered children EVER doing this.

Guilty people, however, routinely do this.

Creepy

John's description of that moment. I wonder if one could read between his lines.....

"She must not see JonBenet like this."
"I push myself off the floor and get a blanket to cover JonBenet."
"Then Patsy is fighting to get into the room to see her baby."
"She rushes past me and falls onto JonBenet's body."

Could the weight of an angry, fighting adult person colliding with a small child cause said child to strike her head with enough force to crack her little skull?

I'd be pacing back and forth

and when my child was brought up, I'd rush to her screaming "My baby." , (I believe Patsy knew JonBenet was dead) and I'd try to revive her, cpr, ANYTHING to help.

I believe Steve's or PMPT's version... the friends rushed out of the room to see what was happening, and had to 'help' Patsy into the other room. Patsy fell on JonBenet crying and praying. Patsy later hid behind the china cabinet, not asking about Burke and worried he'd be next, she was terrified of being caught.

Hi Angel!

Oh, no, another missing child in San Francisco. A 12-year-old boy. I was just thinking about the Kevin Collins case yesterday. Anyway, the reason I'm posting this here is about the parent's reaction. This boy didn't return home asfter school yesterday. I just about started crying listening to the reporter talking about this-she was on the edge too. She said the father was distraught, crying, and imagining the worst. Doesn't sound like Patsy or JR, does it?

Kip: Can you give me the Missing Child's name?

I'd like to search the local news outlets for information on this case to post here.

BobC: It is just wonderful to have you with us, doubly-fine, as you are both a well-respected case watcher and our 100th member!

I want to thank JR for working so hard to get us to this membership milestone as Forum Registrar...in our case, considering the bogus applications and whatnot, JR has a particularly thorny job verifying and vetting applications.

Thank you JR for being instramental in the growth of Forums for Justice...and all our prayers go with you as you and your town search for the missing Rachel Cooke.

This is San Francisco.
This is just plain wrong:

...but I think I've got this figured out: This is all a ploy to lure the Winter Olympics away from Park City, Utah so that Tricia can get the Swedish Olympic Ski team or the Norwegian Lutefisk Slinging team or whomever they are off her front lawn.

No need to thank San Francisco Tricia, just doing what we have to do to make the world safe for you to retrieve you morning paper in peace...

BREAKING NEWS: Evacuations at SFO Airport-Man with Explosives on Shoe Vanishes

Evacuations at SFO Airport

(San Francisco-AP) -- Thousands of people were evacuated from a United terminal at San Francisco International Airport this morning after a man left a security gate with explosive residue on his shoes.

Airport spokesman Mike McCarron says a check of the man's sneakers showed some type of explosive residue. He said it could have just been from fireworks. The man walked away before the investigation could be completed.

The man has not been found.

McCarron says domestic gates 61 to 89 have been affected -- and all flights at those gates are being held.

To go, or not to go

Patsy didn't run to her baby. She didn't ask questions. She jumped into her Lazarus routine. Somebody on another forum pointed out a similarity between Lazarus being in a locked tomb and JB being in that locked wine cellar. Did Patsy hope for yet another miracle from God? Didn't she realize that she muffed her first one? Tsk, tsk, Patsy.
