We plan to publish a Rachel Alert Network cookbook in June 2004. All proceeds from the cookbooks will go to sponsor RAN events such as M.U.S.T self-defense and awareness classes and to help families of missing persons.

If you would like to submit a recipe for the cookbook, please e-mail the recipe to: cookbook@rachelalert.org The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2004. We plan to have around 500 recipes or mor ein the cookbook.

Please include the ingredients, directions, your name, and your state. An optional message field is also available to include any messages to Rachel, our family, or information of other missing persons. To give everyone a chance to send a recipe, we are limiting submissions to a maximum of five recipes per person.

It would really help us if you submit recipes using the following format. Up to 5 recipes may be submitted per person. The recipes can be combined into one e-mail if you like.

Your name and state (or country)
    Recipe name
    Ingredients and Quantity of Each
    Directions
    Servings
Optional message or notes about recipe

Please visit Rachel's Message Board for updates.

I really like the KAREN P. FROM VIRGINIA recipe. I better fix that one.

Betcha it requires more than butter, marshmallows, a box of Snap, Crackle, Pop, and greasing a cookie sheet. You sure you can handle it?

    testing the recipes

Well, J_R, if you like "old" things as the quote you use suggests, stay tuned for some recipes that are from 50 to 100 years old that got sent in to the cookbook...BTW, when the books are ready, will someone please post it around here, some of us LOVE to cook...and bake...

    Recipes

I just sent in our family recipe for Irish Soda Bread.

Reading that list of recipes up there is making me hungry.

All I need is a personal chef, like Oprah has, to cook them all.

Get after Wilton to put up some of his yummy dessert recipes he has shared with us in the past.

Hey Lurker, did you send in a recipe for Irish Stew to go with the bread?

    Oh Wilton...where are you?

RC's stated in his journal that the count has about doubled but that puts him at the 20% mark so Y'All keep those recipe's coming!

    Send them to:

    We are reaching our goal!

We are almost at 400 recipes which is our goal. Thank you everyone who submitted their recipe(s)!

We hope to have the cookbook for sale in July. It still needs to be proofed and sent for publication.

    The Cook Book

Looking forward to getting this cookbook. I need a new one. I have given so many of mine away to my cooking-impaired children.
