    To Webmaster:

I am being discussed on the 'Justice for JonBenet' forum on the thread
'www.supportramsey.com'. I tried to post a response, but I am not a member
and do not seem to be able to register.

In the interest of fairness, I would appreciate it if you would post the
    following response from me:

'I am the artist who did the painting entitled 'JonBenet Triumphant'. This
painting was auctioned on eBay last week. The seller is a registered
nonprofit organization: an art gallery and community art center in
Williamsburg in Queens, New York. They are raising funds to match a grant
they received to restore their historic landmark building. I donated my
painting to their auction of fine art and collectibles. The person who won
the auction is a collector who owns several of my paintings.

I painted this work in 1997, when JonBenet's face was seen on the tabloids
on every New York City newsstand. Her tragic story deeply disturbed me.
The painting is intended to be a tribute to her spirit. I wanted to depict
her as ageless, a combination of the little child she was and the adult she
did not grow up to be. The stylized and exaggerated curls of hair in the
painting now represent a life force rather than the shallow trappings of
    beauty-pageant makeup.

I tried to paint JonBenet as having found new strength in the afterlife.
Her expression can look peaceful, but there is also a power that she was not
allowed in life. I envision this image to be what haunts her killer(s).
She serenely reminds them that they will pay for what they did--if not now,
    then later.

    Thank you for your interest.

    Sincerely,
    Sheryl Humphrey'

    To Sheryl Humphrey,

Art is often misinterpreted and artists misunderstood. Thank you for your explanation of your ideas and feelings "behind the painting".

BTW, Why isn't the registration process working here? I have had two people try to register this week, to no avail. Is registration closed?

I don't know. I have sent a letter to Moab to find out what the deal is.

    I'll let you know.

I am so pleased that you took the time to explain your portait of JonBenet Ramsey. It is both interesting and helpful to study it through the artist's eye.

I have visited your Homepage, and enjoyed viewing your work. You have an extreme gift. The Mutability of Luna is fascinating, and I delighted in Melusina! Thank you for sharing.
