Today, December 2nd, The Globe Magazine has an article about the Linda Arndt depo and FFJ.

I have not seen the article yet. However, I would like to address this situation with everyone.

The Globe contacted me. Out of the blue. Asked me if I would mind answering a few questions as to why I purchased the Linda Arndt deposition.

I received no money nor would I ever have asked for money. My participation was very small.

I struggled with this for several reasons. First and foremost was the Globe's treatment of Steve Thomas. What the Globe higher-ups did to Thomas was awful.

I have been contacted over the years by the tabloids. I have never participated in an article until now. For some reason I guess they think I have information which I do not. If someone ever told me anything in confidence I would never reveal it. No matter what the publication. As God as my witness I would go to jail before I would reveal anything. Like I said, the funny thing is, I know nothing. No one tells me anything ;)

So, I struggled because up until this point I had not dealt with the tabloids. I wanted to make sure this was going to be a good story and an honest story.

I was assured that the article would be both. I feel confident that the story is a good story and the Globe kept its word to me.

Keep in mind the Globe would have done this article with or without me. The article is about the depo. Not about FFJ. To be honest I am surprised that FFJ made the editing cut.

What this article does is keep JonBenet in the news. That is a great thing. It keeps reminding people that JonBenet's murderer is still out there and justice has yet to be served.

The Linda Arndt depo is a public document. Plain and simple.

It is important to make sure these documents in the JBR case are not forgotten. That is the only reason I put any documents up. I don't want the public files on this case to be stuffed away to gather dust. We need to have everything we can legally get our hands on.

I have never requested a document be "unsealed." I respected Steve Thomas when he chose not to have his depo made public. Yet when it was made public ACR put it on her site and so did we. We discussed it.

I respect the Whites for not wanting certain things made public. Yet (Thanks to Fleet White's fight for the truth) when we found out the Krebs file was public we went for it.

There are a few exceptions to this rule. All have to do with Mary Keenan's office and Lou Smit taking his PowerPoint presentation on tour. I feel the PPP should be made public so we can easily refute it. That is a whole other thread!

In closing, I want you all to know I would never intentionally harm Linda Arndt or any of the good people who did their best. I hope Arndt reads the article and realizes that it's a good one. It tells the truth about her depo.

As we all know, the truth will set you free.

    Tricia

PS. If someone gets the article please post it if possible. Thanks.

I hope someone will post it soon, so we can see if it is fair and accurate.

I agree, it is good to keep JonBenet's case in the news. Who knows what will spark a confession or an admission?

I bet some people in Charlevoix are feeling a bit hot under the collar right now.

Amen Lurker. You made my point.

Linda Arndt says it loud and clear in her depo. She feels John Ramsey did it.

With the Globe article coming out all of the Ramsey's friends will read what Arndt says about John. And they will now wonder.......

Although I have always believed all three Ramseys left alive that night know exactly what happened to JonBenet, I always come full circle that a male Ramsey was involved up to his eyeballs in this crime. Patsy for sure was involved in the staging, IMO, due to all evidence I have read for the last 8 years. Can you believe it will be 8 years!!!

I meant to say,"Except for Freebird's Steve Thomas fantasies." LOL. Except it won't be in the tabs. It has to be in Penthouse. Just a bit too steamy for mainstream.

Ok here is the Globe article. Thanks to WY for typing it. Freebird your fantasies are next..heh.

    JonBenet Murder Scene Secrets

    GLOBE World Exclusive

    Detective bares ALL

Explosive secrets about the brutal murder of JonBenet Ramsey have finally been revealed by the first detective on the murder scene.

The stunning crime scene details – exposed in court documents reviewed by GLOBE – include a chilling description of the strange manner in which the 6-year-old beauty queen’s dad carried her lifeless little body from the cluttered basement room where she met her death.

In a March 2000 deposition, former detective Linda Arndt describes the horrific Christmastime scene in the now-infamous Boulder, Colo. House. Arndt was the first cop to respond to John and Patsy Ramsey’s frantic Dec. 26, 1996, report that their daughter had been kidnapped.

Despite repeated calls for backup, Arndt indignantly notes that she was still the ONLY cop on the scene hours later when JonBenet’s body was found – instantly turning the abduction case into a homicide investigation.

    STIFF WITH RIGOR MORTIS

In one of the most shocking and revealing parts of the deposition, Arndt describes what happened after she told John Ramsey to search the home from top to bottom. She says he immediately darted down to the basement and discovered JonBenet’s body, stiff with rigor mortis, with a garrote around her neck and cords tied loosely around her wrists. Instead of calling Arndt to come down, Ramsey picked up his dead daughter and carried her upstairs. Oddly, he wasn’t cradling or holding his daughter tightly.

“He had his arms around her upper legs,†Arndt says. “He carried her up and away from his body. She was facing him but her head was above his head.

“It was clear she was dead. It was unusual for a father to carry his child that way.â€

Arndt admits she was so disturbed that she mentally counted the bullets she had in her revolver, realizing that she might have to protect everyone in the house – including herself.

“We were both bending over the body and [John] was closest to my gun,†she recalls. “I was alone in the house with a man whose daughter was murdered…and I didn’t know how he was going to react.â€

She also noted that just hours after JonBenet’s body was found, John Ramsey spent some time casually reading his mail.

A sexual-assault specialist, Arndt immediately suspected that JonBenet had been abused by a sick fiend – a theory proven by an autopsy.

Arndt took notes as Coroner John Meyer pointed out that a massive skull fracture and ligature strangulation had ended the youngster’s life. The detective saw that the girl had recently been molested with a broken paintbrush, causing bleeding. She also had chronic vaginal injuries, which indicated previous molestation.

Famed forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht, author of the best-seller Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey?, is convinced that the little girl’s death was the result of a “sex game gone awry.â€

Wecht tells GLOBE, “The ligature around the neck was to bring her in and out of consciousness, for someone’s sexual kicks. It was a game that had been played before, although from the medical evidence alone, it’s impossible to say who did it.â€

    But Arndt has no doubts.

“I know who killed JonBenet – there’s no doubt in my mind,†she stated categorically on Good Morning America in 1999. “But while this investigation is still ongoing, I don’t think it’s appropriate to say the name aloud.â€

In her deposition, Arndt says there were attempts to intimidate her – weird phone calls and blood poured on her porch. She even began to suspect that cops she worked with wanted her harmed.

Arndt felt that she was unfairly blamed for botching the investigation before being pulled from the case five months later. She resigned in 1999.

“She had begged for assistance and none came until after the body was found,†says Tricia Griffith, who obtained the deposition for the Web site www.forumsforjustice.org, a Ramasey-case discussion group she owns. “Meanwhile, John, Patsy and several friends they invited over walked all around the enormous home, contaminating it as a crime scene. Arndt thought her bosses should have told the media that any mistakes made that day were not her fault. But no one came to her defense, and when she complained, she further alienated her workmates.â€

    “IMPORTANT INSIGHTâ€

The deposition also details Arndt’s health woes and financial problems since leaving the job she enjoyed for 11 years, as well as the difficulty she’s had in finding work since. She filed a lawsuit against her bosses and the City of Boulder, claiming that her right to free speech was violated when she wasn’t allowed to respond to media reports. But the suit was dismissed and Arndt, 44, lost an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court last year.

Meanwhile, John and Patsy Ramsey now live in Michigan with their teenage son Burke. No arrests have been made and the investigation has been turned over to the Boulder DA’s office, with details of any progress firmly sealed.

But Arndt’s deposition speaks volumes about the case.

“Linda Arndt’s own words give important insight into what may have happened to JonBenet,†says Griffith. “She was one of the most experienced officers in recognizing sex crimes, and her frustration is obvious after her bosses ignored her opinions, then yanked her rom the case. She’s paid a severe price for her views.

“I hope Linda finds a career where she can help people, because her heart’s in the right place.â€

Exactly Freebird. The house of lies in Michigan is not a happy place today I am sure.

I was told by the writer that the article would be fair to Arndt and tell the truth. It was on the writer's word that I agreed to give quotes for the story. All of this was done through email.

The writer, Dawna Kaufmann, told me the truth. She kept her word.

    It is a great article.

I did say that ACR, DejaNu and WY were instrumental in getting the deposition up on the forum but it was edited out.

    Really, I can't thank these three enough.:grouphug:

    Great Article!

Many, many thanks to Dawna Kaufman for writing and publishing an honest article!

Many, many thanks to Tricia and my fellow "conspirators" on this project and Trish's willingness and honesty with the Globe! WY did an amazing job proofing the transcript before it was posted. :reporter: You guys rock!!

My sincerest best wishes to Linda Arndt that in finally exposing the truth about her participation in the investigation her sterling reputation will be restored and her future employment efforts will take her to greater heights than the BPD. :jumpie: :jumpie: :jumpie:

As for the Ramseys, Lin Wood and Lou Smit, :nono: :yuck: :WY:

This is a very good article and it is fair and objective. Tricia's quotes were all positive about Linda Arndt.

I really feel bad for Linda Arndt's family, because Candy says she called them to tell them about this article. Obviously, she made it out to be something it wasn't and got them all upset for nothing. At Purgatory she has a thread about the gutter giving the deposition to the GLOBE, which is a flat out lie.

Candy is so blindly jealous of Tricia that she hurts other people to try and "get" Tricia. That is totally unjustified and just mean-spirited of Candy. I wonder how long it will be before Arndt's family tells Candy to buzz off just like so many of Candy's other obsessions have done.

    hee hee--good job Tricia

Every once in a while the truth of what really happened that morning rears it's ugly head again! Oopsy! I tell people all the time to forget the evolving stories and excuses and libel lawyers and spin blah blah blah. Instead, focus on the original statements of the people involved THAT DAY.

John Ramsey was, according to someone in the house THAT MORNING, carrying Jonebenet "like a plank of wood." Think about it.

Good Job Miss Tricia. Except for the part about it "not being LA's fault."

Thanks for typing the article out WY...and Tricia, I think it's great John's actions that day are once more in print. Sorry Arndt's depo is public and anyone has access to it, but what if it somehow opened up the investigation again? (I know, I can't quit hoping.)

Candy's insane unreasonable jealousy of Tricia or anyone who helps contribute to the case, only makes her or hir, look like the selfish little beetch she is.

I do feel sorry for Candy though, hir ultra secret locked down forum is soooo secret even she can't find it to post.

That's because more than likely her "private forum" is actually a padded cell at the Michigan State Hospital for the Terminally Insane. Doncha know she's a SUPASTAR! :takeabow:

Exactly BobC. Here is the description from Arndt's depo.

“He had his arms around her upper legs,†Arndt says. “He carried her up and away from his body. She was facing him but her head was above his head.

“It was clear she was dead. It was unusual for a father to carry his child that way.â€

This is so bizarre. WHY DID JOHN CARRY HIS DAUGHTER THIS WAY?

The only way it would have been more physically difficult for John would be if he carried her by her ankles.

This was not an easy feat. Not by any means.

    WHY?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

John Ramsey, after reading "Mindhunter" by John Douglas, was painfully well aware that leaving behind microscopic evidence on a body could put him in prison for the rest of his life. Anybody watching the OJ Simpson "trial" learned that even throwing a blanket over a body opens the door to a world of contamination issues.

I believe that John Ramsey was waiting for hours for somebody, ANYBODY, else to find that body. Put yourself in his place. Think about how excruciating waiting from 2:00 am (or whatever) to 2:00 pm must have been. When the wait became too much to stand, JR decided to take LA's advice and end the waiting! At the same time, he knew he had to put on a show of grief while being very careful not to put anything incriminating on the body. Hence the carrying of JBR "like a plank of wood."

Parents of children murdered by predators are oblivious to such concerns. Obviously.

Greg McCrarey of Quantico SKU said in 1997 that the staging of this crime scene was the work of a "cold, psychopathic mind." I was a bit taken aback by that statement at the time, since I'd read the ranson note and agreed with Robert Ressler's assessment that it was ridiculously fake and melodramatic--anything but cold and psychopathic.

So let's connect the dots here, keeping in mind the fact that even touchy feely Alex Hunter was taken aback by John Ramsey very early on, calling him the "the Iceman." At the same time, the ransom note WAS obviously the work of theatrical but warm Patsy Ramsey (whether she had a little help or not).

Connecting the dots--it all adds up to the conclusion that both parents participated in the cover-up. I personally believe JR orchestrated all of it, being very careful to make sure dummy Patsy left behind all the incriminating forensic evidence. He was calculating the whole time.

I believe John Ramsey knew they'd get caught, and was preparing to finger Patsy if push came to shove. Push never came to shove, thanks to the legal wall around them.

You know what Tricia? I just watched a Discovery animal show yesterday where a baby baboon was grabbed by a crocodile at a watering hole, and the whole baboon troop came to the aid of the baby. The baboons eventually drove off the crocodile and freed the baby but it was too late. The infant baboon was already dead. The mother clutched the baby to her breast anyway and carried him around as if he were still alive for days.

Conversely, John Ramsey, human, carried his murdered baby "like a plank of wood." And when he came up those stairs, everybody in the house, except PATSY, immediately reacted.

    This isn't rocket science guys.

We may never know who killed that little girl and/or why, but only an idiot would believe that John and Patsy Ramsey aren't "harboring a guilty knowledge of what occured that night."

    Bobc, You Dog!

"I believe John Ramsey knew they'd get caught, and was preparing to finger Patsy if push came to shove."

And hence, the separate lawyers, getting PR to pen the RN and do most of the staging, including the strangulation.

What an amazing, profound post! Articulate, well-founded, 100% balls-on astute and, for a male, incredibly moving. I'm impressed anew, my friend! Somebody give that man a ceegar.

BobC, this is one of the best posts I have ever read from you.

I always thought that John was such a cold ba$tard that he just didn't want to hold JonBenet in his arms because she was dead.

You are 100% right on. He is a cold AND calculating ba$tard.

There isn't a person reading your post that doesn't understand why that Baboon mother held onto her dead baby. However, I think we are all trying to comprehend just how cold and inhumane John Ramsey behaved when he found JonBenet.
