    Focus remains on Patsy Ramsey

    by Joe Scarborough

So many things don’t add up in the JonBenet Ramsey case even after that creepy reptile of a suspect was allowed to slither out of his Bangkok prison cell.

Last night I spoke to Patsy Ramsey’s sister on Scarborough Country.

She was obviously relieved that the world finally had a reason to divert their suspicions from her dead sister to a serial child molester. But investigators I am talking to on and off camera tell me that their focus remains on JonBenet’s mother.

Why? Because they think John Mark Karr’s confession may be an attempt to get out of a life sentence in Bangkok. Better to spend your remaining years in US federal facility than a Thailand hell hole.

Investigators say even taking the rap for a brutal murder will be a better deal if it gets him back on American soil.

Besides, they say his performance in the press conference was pathetic. One told me, "He looked like he was lying through his teeth."

Others still don’t buy Patsy Ramsey’s story. Remember after the murder how watching the slain girl’s mom made you feel uneasy in all those interviews? Her story didn’t seem to add up then and it doesn’t add up now.

The biggest question centers around how an outsider like Karr could have carried this off without the help of a family member.

Does anyone really believe this guy would travel from Georgia, break into the house, pull the little girl out of her room undetected, take her down into the basement, tie her up in an elaborately evil fashion, practice writing a long ransom note, rewrite that long ransom note (that demanded the exact amount of John Ramsey’s bonus), rape the little girl and then slip out undetected?

Anything is possible, but those chain of events coupled with the Ramseys' bizarre behavior after the murder still leaves me wondering whether this school teacher could have committed such a crime on his on.

Last night I once again gave Patsy Ramsey the benefit of the doubt. I concluded that since I had never been through such an unspeakable tragedy, I was in no position to judge her conduct.

But Mark Klass, who lost his little daughter under similar circumstances, quickly interrupted me. Mark, like so many others talking about the Jon Benet case, said the Ramsey’s behavior simply was not consistent with that of a parent who had lost their child.

I suspect we will learn more about Patsy Ramsey and this murder once Karr starts talking to police. But whether what we learn absolves or implicates her is anyone’s guess.

Score another one for the Florida Team!!!

Thank you Joe!!! I finally forgive you for being a politician in the 90's!

This is soooo freaking worth the 48 hours I didn't sleep this week and to hear it coming from Scarborough makes it even sweeter!

Schiller. That name has become appropriate lately. He wrote a book with TONS of evidence against them. Did he actually say that they were innocent?

Wendy was great against PK, wasn't she? She was even better on "Tucker" today!

Who are these investigators he spoke to?

I came up with the exact same association of JMK to Lee Harvey Oswald...werid. I think he reminds me of oswald because of him walking through the hallway with thai officials and reporters surrounding him like Oswald in the basement od the Dallas Police Dept......JMK literally another Patsy!

Yum Yum, was this Ma Brady show a new one or one from the archives? If it's new what has she been up to?

Tricia ... I'ts NEW ... from the 17th. She didn't say what she was up to but Peter said that he would call her "tomorrow" (the 18th/yesterday). I presume that he was going to have her on the show again. I'm listening to that show now, but he's had Carol McKinley on for the first 15 minutes, and still going.

McKinley is doing great ... very level headed. And this was EARLY in the Karr episode. Here's the McKinley link:

You need to get Peter and Calis' VIP phone numbers. Just ask if you need and email assault in order to get it done.

    This is GREAT stuff!

I listened to the Pete Boyles Show - too funny playing "One Night in Bankok".

Interesting to have the BBC guy on (he mentioned our very strict pro-judice laws). I was glad to note that Pete Boyles gave a very accurate summary of the situation to the BBC guy.

One thing struck me was Pete Boyles apparent disbelief that Michael Tracey & the investigators didn't make any attempt to speak to Karr's family before this broke. What does that remind us of? Answer - that Tracey and the Ramsey PIs made no attempt to contact Gigax via his website and working e-mail and telephone numbers in order to ask him where he'd been on the night of the murder.

ETA - I don't know how to e-mail Peter Boyles, but I think he'd be interested to know about Tracey III-UK spent it's entirety building a case against Tracey's "Prime Suspect". Boyles might even be interested in commenting on whether he agrees that one of Tracey's "witnesses" bore a striking resemblance to a guy on the Colorado Sex Offenders register with the status of not having signed in (or whatever they classify it as)!

I'd be happy to compose a summary of the weaknesses in Tracey's documentary if someone could provide me with an e-mail for him.

I don't think Boyles would be shy about reporting it - he seems to be half way there on his assessment of Tracey already!

I'd also e-mail a copy to the BBC journalist who was interested enough to interview Boyle for his own his show - I think it's only fair that the British public are told that the last documentary was a load of rubbish - even if Karr does turn out to be guilty after all!

Mrs. Brady popped in at Purg when the news hit, ready to eat crow. Not sure where she stands today though.

Dimmie - thank you for all that noodling! Yes, I do keep expecting someone to jump out of a crowd and shoot this creep - maybe that is why.
