I remember when JB was born. I had moved to CO from Atlanta when we got the birth announcement. I was somewhat surprised to read that the baby's name was JonBenet (I think Patsy was on her French kick then). I called Patsy and congratulated her and felt somewhat uncomfortable about calling a baby JB (it's a mouth full). She then told me she decided on that name because it came from JR: drop the "H" in John and "N" and last "T" in Bennett and voila!....

Burke was not named right right away. JR and PR could not decide on a name. JR told me he had a "vision" when he visited Boulder and saw a shop name Burke.

Funny how the daughter was named after dad and the son was not.

Yes, welcome Cookie. I would like to know how you knew the Ramseys, if you would share with us.

I do not know statistics, but I would venture a guess that sons are often named after their fathers. All three of ours were. Our oldest has his fathers middle name, our second son, has my fathers name and our third son has his fathers first name as his middle name.

I have not a clue what Burkes middle name is.

How did you find your way here to our forum? I am looking forward to your insights on the Ramsey's. How long have you known them and are you still in touch with them?

Camper, I have that name somewhere, I will try to find it.

    I remember........

when i first heard about JonBenet.

I remember seeing her face on TV......and then the video that showed her modeling for her pageant!

I remember noticing she seemed very mature for her age and quite accomplished with her moves and facial expressions on stage.

I remember she was very charismatic.

I remember feeling so very sad for a little girl I didnt even
    know. I remember crying.

I remember watching the Geraldo show when they did a mock jury trial about the case.

I remember hearing evidence against their parents.

I remember thinking....there is "no way in hell" that
those parents murdered their precious beautiful child.

    I remember it well.

Now I have different memories,......and they are just as sad......if not more!

    McPurr.....just for today.........

I think it's a good idea to keep this thread in the daily area since only full members can see it.

Cookie if you want this in the public forum (where everyone on the internet can see it ) then go to the window in the lower left hand corner of this screen. Click on the arrow and the window will drop down with your choices. The JBR public forum is one of them.

Cookie anything you want to talk about we will listen. We are frustrated with this case . We want to talk too.

All of us only know of JonBenet after death. You can offer us an insight to the beautiful child in life. Thank you for that.

I remember reading about this on Dec 27th or 28th in the Salt Lake Tribune. A little two paragraph story. Headline was something like "Beauty Queen Found Dead in her Home". I thought they were talking about a grownup. I couldn't believe it when I read she was 6 years old. I had no idea there was such a thing as a 6 year old beauty queen. I had to follow this case. I had no idea how many different paths this case would take me and the friends I would make along the way.

    Thank you cookie.

    Hello Cookie

I remember the first time I heard the name Jonbenet and yes, you're right it was a difficult name to pronounce.

Just the same, I found it to be a very unique name for such a unique little girl. Actually I really liked the sound of it.

As for Burke not being named after the father, I assume the reason is that his first born son John Andrew had already been named after him and therefore they had to think of something different. It's possible too, that they might have been hoping for a little girl (at least, I'm pretty sure Patsy would have been).

The first time I heard about Jonbenet's murder, we were having guests over for a post-Christmas dinner and it seems to me that everyone, based on the very little they heard, or knew at the time, made the immediate assumption that the brother (Burke) had somehow accidently killed his sister. I remember it well, because every single person made the very same assumption. Go figure!

As well, the week before, my hub and I had watched what could only be described as a documentary of the bizarre pageant world of little girls, babes and their smother-mothers. We thought, incorrectly, that Jonbenet was the same little blonde girl that had lost the coveted 1st prize, etc. etc. Prior to that documentary, and the sad news of Jonbenet, I really had never paid much attention to the pageant world. I thought all that weirdness was only associated with older girls.

Oh well, here we are so many years later and Jonbenet is larger than she was in life. As Tricia pointed out, it would be nice if we knew what she was "really" like in life. To be sure, like most kids, she was probably no saint. I'm certain she could be as precocious as any 6 year old.

If you feel like sharing any of your memories about Jonbenet, well, you definitely know we're all ears here. Did you keep in touch with the Rams AFTER Jonbenet was born or were you just a distant acquaintance.

    Regards,
    Mandarin

    Thanks Guys

I'm a little shy about this whole forum thing. I'm not sure if I want ANY of my thoughts placed on the public forum simply because "Doc" (Tom Miller) and I have been through soooooo much and much of what I have said about this case has been scrutinized by Jamison (sp?) et all. I feel safe here, and for now, I wish to keep my thoughts and opinions with people that can be trusted.

Zap called me last week to ask about the Ramsey case and she led me to this forum. I was impressed with what I read (not a bashing, rumor- driven site), so I decided to join and share my opinions with ya'll (lived in GA for 10 years and love that word!).

Doc is nearly finished with his book, the Law and JonBenet: Murder in Small Places and we wanted to share this incredible story with you. More about that later.

JonBenet was someone really special. She was smart, sensitive, kind, funny, and unassuming. My daughter was her friend and one day, while in her bedroom, she noted all the trophies. JB said that they honestly belonged in her mommy's room and not hers. She didn't care about them and was slightly embarrassed. I remember.

About John's plane, he always managed to have one. He loved flying and so does Burke (not that the latter ever flew).

I was shocked when Nedra told me that PR was flying to Bethesda alone. I was infuriated! I told Nedra that PR must have a companion and WHERE THE HELL WAS JOHN! PR simply replied that he was busy and didn't have time. It was as if she resigned herself to that kind of treatment and that was it. How sad.

Welcome, welcome to the forum, Cookie! This is the best forum around and there are a lot of intelligent posters here.

I cannot wait to read this new book. Any idea when it will be released? Will there be things in the book that no one has heard before? Any new revelations? I am infuriated that the case is where it is at today.

    Thank you for your thoughts.

    Cookie

Cookie my goodness after all of these years, when I and other forum folks here have had so many questions about JonBenet and her death.

Cookie, I would like to know if perchance you are acquainted with the mother and child, to whom JonBenet had told that she was going to have "A secret visit from Santa after Christmas".

I personally have always thought that little JonBenet knew exactly what she was saying and did NOT misinterpret that bit of information.

Some posters said it probably related to a second Christmas celebration in Charlevoix, and I never thought JonBenet would have said it the way that she did. I have had five daughters, and four tiny grand daughters, and they always got their stories straight when they were that age. They were like little elephants and NEVER forgot promises, or the exact words that were used in promises.

I would be so appreciative of any information you have in that regard.

    Also Cookie,

Were Patsy's friends really planning an "intervention" over JB and the pagent life? If it is true, were you one of these friends?

And did JB on occasion, go to school looking tired, dirty, dressed poorly?

It is great having you here, sorting out all the facts and fictions we have heard over the years... God, that is unbelievable - years...

    Answers to your Questions

I'm tryng to keep up with your questions. I will answer what I can.

It's a beautiful snowy night in Boulder. There's a hush in the air and the snow, this day, is dropping so quietly and peaceful. I can't imagine that there is "a killer out there." I was so ****ed when PR made that statement. Can you imagine the number of parents and children that took that statement seriously?

Susan Stine and PR were "acquaintances" (Patsy's overused word) until after the murder. Since the Pasta Jay incident, they were looking for a safe haven to hide in. Most of the "friends" couldn't or didn't want to house the family. It would become an incredible inconvenience for anyone who accepted that responsibility. I often wondered why the Ramsey family just didn't rent or find a place of their own, instead of imposing on someone else. Oh well......

Susan Stine took the bait. She had nothing interesting in her life. Most people disliked her, except for Roxy Walker. She was probably her only friend. Why? Because Susan was cold, opinionated, and a pain in the ***. She was on our softball team, Mom's Gone Bad, as well as Roxy, Patsy and Priscilla. Susan was just not an easy person to get along with. She was also a "needy" individual and Patsy was the "goose that laid the golden egg."

It seemed that they became better friends as the case heated up. But I believe, from experience, that Patsy often uses people (especially woman friends) because they can benefit her in some way. She uses people and I've seen it many times. She used me whenever a photograph needed to be taken. Never paid me, just used me. When she erroneously said in their book, full of lies, that I often forced or insisted on taking her photograph, that was a twist of the truth.

Now for Doc's book. He would rather have me post this info on a "restricted" basis. He writes about the "How" and "Why" of the justice system in the JoneBenet case. How the system failed in the case and why the system failed. There will be a ton of new eye opening information that will "knock your socks off."

Chapter 1: Dealing with the Devil

Chapter 2: The Rich Eat the Poor

    Chapter3: Tabloid Trash

    Chapter 4: Machiavelli's Circle

    Chapter 5: Son of a *****

Chapter 6: Elephant in the Courtroom

    Chapter 7: Bought Justice

Titles may change persuant to the editors.

    That's it for tonight.

I want to spend time with my daughter. We will be gone from the forum during Spring Break (March 23-29th). Doc and I will be on our "honeymoon," with our daughter, visiting the sights and sounds in London.

Guten Abend (see what 5 years of German does for me)

    Thanks Guys

Thanks Camper, Vic, Purr, VP, Thor, 1000 Sparks, River Rat and Angel for you words of welcome.

Someone asked me if I still am a close friend of the RAMS.

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am JZP. Please don't believe a word in the RAMS book. It is full of lies. Everything she says about me is either an exaggeration or a lie. I was horrified when I read their transcript.

It was important for the RAMS to demonize me. I told the truth and they knew it. And they also knew, that I KNEW, they were involved. I see things that others wouldn't notice. I am highly intuitive about people and straightforward. I'm sure I was a thorn in their side. The more they lied, the more I was convinced of their roles in this murder. What motivates people to lie?

I knew them for 14 years. PR and I were pregnant together. I attended birthday parties, baptisms, Christmas events, and on and on and on......... in Atlanta, as well as Boulder. There were times when we were close. Still, I had a "second sense" not to get to close to PR. Call it intuition or whatever, I kept my a distance, to some degree.

    Later.

    $$$$$$$$$$$

Cookie, do you feel there is some under the table $$$$ going on in the Ramsey case versus Thomas, given the rather odd behavior of the judge?

Just a yes or a no will work for me if you do not wish to elaborate!

    Help Us

    Thanks Bob C.

Doc and I need your help. We need you sleuths to find out about one RITA JOHNSON.

She began contacting us at our home early last year (before Doc's trial) and identified herself as a person super interested in the Rams case.

She continued to tell us that she had met both PR and JR at a HomeDepot in Atlanta and wanted to get information from them for her book concerning JonBenet. She claims that she "pretended" to be an old acquaintance and the RAMS suspiciously bought her story. She began building a relationship with PR .

She sent us a card that she supposedly found at the grave sight and insisted that it was written by PR. A heart symbol, just like the one on JBR's hand, appeared on this card. She wanted Doc to examine the handwriting and again insisted that it must be PR's. (It gets more interesting) This request from her came right before Doc's trial.

Doc, my husband, is an experienced certified handwriting expert, well respected in the field. I can tell you that his analysis of people, based on their handwriting, is amazing. I have found him to be extremely accurate. He even picked the jury during his trial, based on his analysis of their handwriting. And WE WON!!!!! He was acquitted from a bogus commercial bribery charge instigated by the RAMS and their lawyers. Forman, who testified at this trial, admitted this. It cost us our life savings, but that is how justice is bought in our system. The RAMS wanted to punish him for his insistance that PR wrote the ransom note and he wasn't afraid to say publically. And they wanted to get back at me, too.

Doc examined the card and said that the handwriting was NOT PR's, much to RITA JOHNSON'S dismay. She insisted that it was.

Don't you see that the RAM'S wanted to discredit DOC right before his trial?

We really never said much to RJ (JR backwards.) We began to be suspicious of her intentions when she commented about her 400 page book that was written in 3 months. NOT!!!! Stephen King isn't that prolific.

Doc told her that she had to come to Boulder and meet us before we would disclose any information (for her book). Didn't hear from her again until just recently when she inquired about Doc's book.

    I smell a rat!!!!!

Can you help us or make suggestions?

    Thanks!
