I thought I would start this thread in order to put down the things we know for sure about JonBenet's death and the events that occurred after the fact. Please feel free to add to the list!

    1. JonBenet, Burke, Patsy, and John all returned home on Christmas night and only Burke, Patsy, and John woke up the next morning. JonBenet was dead in the basement.

    2. There was a note on the back staircase saying that JonBenet had been kidnapped. The note was written on paper from inside the house with a Sharpie pen that was also inside the house.

    3. The police were called, against the explicit instructions in the note. When Officer French arrived, he looked around the house, but couldn't get the "wine cellar" door open.

    4. Patsy called friends, again, against the explicit instructions in the note. Fleet White also searched the basement, opened the wine cellar door, but did not see JonBenet's body there.

    5. There was no phone call from the "kidnappers."

    6. Linda Arndt was left alone with nine adults and sometime that morning, John Ramsey disappeared downstairs.

    7. At approximately 1 p.m., Linda Arndt told John and Fleet to look around and see if anything was out of place. John went straight to the basement.

    8. John discovered JonBenet's body in the wine cellar.

    9. John arranged to fly to Atlanta that night while his daughter was still laying beneath the Christmas tree. LE told him that they couldn't leave, so Fleet White called the pilot and canceled the flight.

    10. Dr. Beuf prescribed valium for both Patsy and John.

Ok, here's the first ten items I can think of. Please add!

    11. John and Patsy sent Burke away from their house before JonBenet's body was "found" in the basement - he went to the White's house along with his game system.

    12. CBI said the crime scene was definitely staged.

    13. There was a Maglight flashlight on the kitchen counter that had no fingerprints either inside or out - not even on the batteries.

    14. Pam Paugh removed a car trunkload full of items from the house on 12/28/96, while escorted by a Boulder Police officer and while wearing a BPD jacket. Here is a list of what the BPD wrote down, other articles may have been taken, and not accounted for (notice John's golf clubs are not in this list): Stuffed animals, tiaras,3 dresses for JonBenét, pageant photo portfolios, toys and clothes for Burke, John Ramsey's Daytimer, the desk Bible and clothing. For Patsy: black pants, dress suits, boots, and the contents of a curio cabinet. Bills, credit cards, a black cashmere trench coat, jewelry that included her grandmother's ring and an emerald necklace, bath robes, a cell phone, personal papers, bank records, Christmas stockings, her Nordstrom's credit card, and even their passports! (My comment - they certainly were more concerned about getting these THINGS out of the house than they were concerned about staying with JonBent's body until the coroner came to pick her up!)

    15. The wrist cords were so loose that one of them fell away as John carried JonBenet up the stairs.

    16. Patsy did not respond when John screamed he'd found JonBenet, nor did she react when Fleet White called for an ambulance.

    17. No footprints or fingerprints were found outside the house; there was no sign of any forced intrustion or any intrusion.

If any of these are not considered facts, please advise!

    18. JB ate pineapple shortly before her death. Patsy says that she didn't feed pineapple to JB, that she was sleeping when they arrived home from the party. But, Patsy's fingerprints were found on the bowl.

    19. Patsy's jacket fibers are found entwined in garotte.

    20. No lip print on tape covering JB's mouth.

    21. JB's body is wrapped "lovingly" "Papoose style". (My comment is...only a parent would do that).

    22. John said he had broken a window in the basement during the summer to get into the house. There was a broken window in the basement.

    23. The grate under the window section had not been moved as the greenry around the grate had not been disturbed as well as a spider web was intact and would have been disturbed had the grate been lifted.

    24. There were no footprints around the exterior of the house. (or has this one been mentioned already?)

    25. JonBenet's body had been washed and there was the odor of bleach about it.

    26. Burke at first says that JB walked in (after arriving home from party) and helped to carry presents, and then changed his story to match that of his parents....JB was asleep. (I know that Thomas said that he believe that Burke was confused...but, I don't think so...how do you confuse those two things?

    27. At first Patsy says that she noticed the heart on JB's hand...and then she changes her story and says that she DIDN'T see it, but had heard about it.

    28. The pathologist found pineapple in JBs system. No pineapple was served at the Whites party and Patsy denied feeding pineapple before or after they went to the Whites to JB. The police found a bowl with pineapple in the Ramseys kitchen, which held Patsys fingerprints on it.

    29. Patsy at one point in the morning while it was still a "kidnapping" was rolling on the floor in hysterics. Later after JBR body was brought upstairs she sat on a chair or footstool and looked at what was happening through splayed fingers. (Personal note here . This visual image has always gotten to me and I laugh at it)

    30. The first officer, who arrived in the early morning after the 911 call at the Ramseys house recognized, that Patsy wore full Make-up and her hair was done, like she never was in bed.

#31 Patsy made sure she had witnesses when she threw herself on top of the body of JonBenét, to account for any fibers from the same clothes she was still wearing from the previous night.

#32 John Ramsey was absent from the group on the morning of the 26th December,1996, and later in the afternoon when speaking to his son, daughter and fiancé he relates how JonBenét was found at 11:30 am insyead of 1:30 pm (?).

    33. Patsy Ramsey has been known to use the term "and hence" which is also written in the ransom note. One either says, "and," or "hence," not both, since hence means "thus."

    34. All but one handwriting analyst said the writing in the ransom note matched Patsy's very closely. The one who did not rule Patsy out was the one the Ramseys hired themselves.

oohhhhh! I had never heard that! I read there was an odor of death but not bleach. Where did that come from?

Didn't Patsy deny even having pineapple in the house that day?

Did somebody already say that THAT officer never opened the wine cellar door to check in there? That is a fact.

    3. in the first post says that Officer French couldn't get the door open, but I thought that he just looked at the door, noticed it was latched from the outside, and didn't go in because it was latched.

Yes, that was what happened heymom. From memory, Officer French took one look at the wooden latch on the top of the door and realized that the room was locked from the outside, so why bother. No one could be hiding in there.

    35. Patsy told the police on the 26th of December, that JB went to sleep with a red turtleneck top! But JB was found with the white shirt, that she wore the night before at the Whites Christmas party.

I have also read that she had a "odor of decay", not bleach. There was however, an odor of bleach or peroxide in JBR's bathroom. If the initial bleeding occurred there, that may very well explain the smell- an attempt to clean it up. Decomposition starts fairly quickly after death, though not always apparent visually if the body is indoors at average temperatures. (sometimes the abdomen appears greenish over the intestines as the area is the first to begin to decompose because of the bacteria). The odor would definitely be noticed 12 hours later.
