Default For Better Memories than Mine

With all this DNA speak it came to me that somewhere deep in my memory banks (which are way overdrawn), there was, if remembering correctly, an UNFLUSHED toilet at the Ramsey house. I don't remember which toilet, but remember it was quite the talk at the time it was made public.

Since I have NEVER heard it mentioned again, and since all the DNA talk is the current topic, do we know:

    Was it tested?
Who did the contents of the unflushed toilet belong to?
    Where was this toilet?

Is this one of those tidbits not yet released to the public?

One would assume the contents of that unflushed toilet belonged to someone in the family. If not, one would hope that those contents were tested; plenty of DNA in there. If tested and it was NOT Ramsey, we would have heard that over and over again, so must we assume that the contents were Ramsey?

    Anyone remember or know?

I have wondered about this also. I THINK that Patsy said that one of Burke's friends had a bad habit of not flushing. I will have to go back and re-read her 98 interview.

    Barbara,
I seem to remember something about that too and can not remember where I read it.
This is all I could find.

PMPT page 109 Throughout the house the police had ripped out
    page 110
every toilet, looking for evidence in the plumbing traps. The evidence taken in the search was itemized on thirteen handwritten pages, which were signed by Detective Bayfield. Every notepad and pen in the house was taken.

Among the 132 items in the first inventory were the Avalanche sweatshirt and the blanket that had covered JonBenet's body. Detective Everett photographed a shoe imprint that was discovered in a powder-like substance next to where JonBenet's body had been lying. Inside the wine cellar, fibers, hair, and the pink Barbie nightgown were collected. Just outside the room, there were wooden shards near an artist's paint tray that also held part of a broken paintbrush; several paintings, one of which Patsy had done in Michigan, of flowers in a box on her porch; rope; string from a sled; and down the hall on a counter, a red pocket knife. Black sheet metal, wire, vacuumed hair and fibers from almost every room of the house, bedding, street clothes, underwear, prayer books, Christmas gifts, pieces of glass from the broken window, toilet tissue, toilet seats and lids, books, and newspapers were also collected. The listgrew longer by the day. Patsy's and John's clothing, camera, computers, and 180 videotapes were hauled away in boxafter box. Before the police left, they photographed every inch of the house and all its remaining contents. On January30,1997, a judge signed another warrant allowing the police to search for pornography on the hard drives of the seized computers. During the last days of June 1997, there would be a third search of the Ramseys' house.

Evans found many of the family's personal effects, furniture, books, wall hangings, and even some food-still in the house. What interested him most was the basement. In his notes, he described it as "unfinished," with walls that had been repainted just before the murder. It had a claustrophobic
feel, with low ceilings and small rooms. There were no lighting fixtures-just bare bulbs everywhere. Toilets and sinks were still disassembled from the various police searches.

I do recall that "material from toilet" was taken into evidence. I remember reading about that unflushed toilet, and I think it was the one in JBR's bathroom.

Thank you all. I see they took liquid from the toilet, toilet tissue and the toilet seat itself. Also, some mention of the pipes themselves

Are we to assume that all materials found belonged to JonBenet or one of the Ramseys?

So if it all belonged to Ramsey, HENCE, once again, NO evidence of an intruder who by some accounts, wandered the house for hours to understand the layout yet never needed a restroom.

Just one of the test results we never heard about. When that happens, it just tells me that ONLY Ramsey evidence was found.

Yes, Barbara- I agree. I think that is also the case with a LOT of the information about the case, anything that implicates the Rs is kept quiet, not released to the public. A "lie of omission", if you will.
