I hope they get a resolution to this case.

BTW, I saw where a Arab/Muslim country is executing a 22 year old man for raping and murdering very young girls and leaving one (three years old) in the desert to die, except she didn't die. He will be executed by beheading and his head will be displayed on his body, in public.

Some groups are raising a stink about the method of execution. Sorry - this is one I agree with - finally, the punishment fits the crime.
For sure the punishment fits the crime, Tricia and WY

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - (AP) -- Southwest Florida deputies began digging for evidence on Tuesday in the case of a missing 4-year-old girl who disappeared more than 10 years ago, when she was left in the care of a young baby sitter and never returned.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office was joined by forensic specialists, a university anthropologist and NecroSearch International, a nonprofit organization that assists law enforcement and specializes in the search for clandestine graves.

Investigators used sophisticated ground penetrating radar to guide their search of a Punta Gorda property and began digging early Tuesday afternoon.

"This case has continued to be investigated since it was first reported in 1999," Sheriff Bill Cameron said in a statement. "We will not stop until Pilar Rodriguez is found, the investigation reaches its ultimate conclusion, questions surrounding her disappearance are answered, and those responsible are brought to justice."

Pilar Rodriguez disappeared in 1999. Her father, Marco Rodriguez, told detectives he gave her baby sitter, Melissa Cooper, then 22, permission to take the child on a two-week vacation. He reported her missing when they didn't return.

Cooper later told investigators Pilar was the victim of a "totally senseless" crime while she and her boyfriend were in Punta Gorda, about 75 miles south of Tampa.

Cooper's mother, Deborah Cooper, has said that her daughter claims the girl was fatally beaten by her boyfriend, Keith Allen Wilson. Wilson, meanwhile, has denied any involvement, saying Melissa Cooper told him the child's father had come for the girl.

"I want to help them in any way," Wilson said at the time. "But right now they're only looking in one place -- me. And I don't know anything.

The property investigators searched Tuesday was located at 5052 Duncan Road. Records indicate a Keith Wilson previously lived at a home at that address.

A message left at a telephone listing for the address was not immediately returned.

Investigators provided no further details about their search on Tuesday. In the past, they have searched area woods, landfills, and sent divers into a nearby body of water.

    Default Moab to the Rescue!

Thank You, Angel! I had no clue that it was going to take forever at my appointment, but I am ready to go for a ride now and see what's going on...and then promise to have time to catch all up on my slip of the tongue above...just a little benign removal next week has been interrupting far too many things for me right now! But Rat's always off BEEing Rat even if you don't see me for a bit and I am going to be fine soon enough! Love, RR!

Search Resumes In Missing Child Cold Case

Pilar Rodriguez, 3, Disappeared In 1999

She Was Last Seen With Her Babysitter

No Charges Have Ever Been Filed

Investigators have resumed the search for evidence in connection with missing 3-year-old South Florida girl, Pilar Rodriguez of Hollywood.

Investigators are using ground-penetrating radar to search a property in Punta Gorda in Charlotte County. The property once belonged to the family of one the prime suspects, Keith Wilson.

Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Cameron said, "Nothing at this time has been found and the long tedious task will continue throughout the day in the search for Pilar."

Police began searching the property on Tuesday hoping to find evidence that will lead them to the girl who disappeared a decade ago while visiting Punta Gorda with her babysitter, Melissa Cooper.

Sheriff Bill Cameron says deputies began searching the 8-acre area Tuesday morning.

During a Tuesday news conference, a reporter asked, "Is the confidence level high?".

"It's hopeful," Sheriff Cameron responded. "I wouldn't call it high, it's hopeful."

"What happened to Pilar Rodriguez?" asks Dinorah Perry of Missing Children International Ministries in Pembroke Pines. She's been following the case for years. "Hopefully, by today or tomorrow the whole world will know what happened to that child."

The original persons of interest in this case, babysitter Melissa Cooper and her boyfriend Keith Wilson, continue to be a focus of the investigation, according to the sheriff's office, although they are no longer in the area.

    Thumbs up River Ratness!

You are wonderful to do what you do and I applaud your efforts with much gusto! I was wondering if the 2 main "persons of interest" though not in the area are at least under some kind of surveillance right now. And yes how close to the tot mom and Caleigh is this? Yikes!

    Unhappy In the Trenches Again

I have to be very careful with my words right now and I am sure that all here understand the position that I have found myself in...and please...the Thank You's are accepted with honor, but I would still be knee deep doing My Thing...whatever My Thing is! Now - I need to round up some help for the LEO's are it's still as miserable in this heat here and now I find out that not even water is being dropped off as they are busting their butts!

I will leave now with one scoop - there was indeed a bone found yesterday, I watched as it was brought up, but had to stay mum...today brought the fact that it was a Bone from an Alligator.

Tomorrow - Day 3 - I will have more that I can share by the time night-time comes....and will correct as many erronious "facts" that had made it to print or on TV as I can...but I can say that it is safe to say that the original suspects are not unaccounted for.

Pilar is now classified by the CCSO as a FOUR year old as it was days before her birthday when she was brought over to this side of The State...as time and procedures allow - I will continue this if the interest is there!
