I went back to the Maketoast site today to look at the crime scene photos and guess what? The have all been removed. All of those that said "crime scene photos" are gone. I cropped the ones I posted so it is not on them, but it was. Now the menu has changed...no longer has a link to "crime scene photos," now it is "case" pictures. Wtf?

I can barely see the wooden latch on the left top of the door, VP. It looks quite small, doesn't it. I had visualized it being bigger somehow. Haven't seen this photo before, but I have seen the footprint one before, which turned out to be Burke's
It's hard to see anything on that type of carpet pattern, don't you think?

Never thought of that before either Elle - the latch would be too high for Burke to reach - unless of course he stood on the suitcase, but then I'm still not sure he would even bother.
I agree it would be hard for either of us to see the bootprint on that carpet, but forensics would have picked it up, and the only thing ever mentioned about the boot print was that it was in the cellar. Not on the surface of any of the floors, or outside the window. Would certainly have left debris on the suitcase as he jettisoned (sp) out the window.

Can't you just picture an intruder, unfamiliar with the house, maneuvering his way through all that crap in the basement to find the "Wine Room" door? In the pitch black? Carrying the dead weight of an unconscious child?
Take this investigation away from Mary Keenan and her stooges and put it in the hands of competent people! Eight years is too long for the murderer(s) to walk free! |

While researching, one of my own FFJ posts came up relating to this latch, so I'll just post it again. Save me some work :-) Quote:

Hi VP,
I went to Maketoast and the crimescene photo's appeared for me, maybe there was a server error or something... Anyway, while I was there I discovered a photo that I KNEW I SAW, but couldn't remember where I saw it. Footprints (?) beside JonBenet's bed? I'm in the midst of enlarging it and will try to post the results...

I am not the only one that went to the site last night to find the pictures gone - replaced by "case" photos. Not one of the crime scene photos was posted. Don't know what is going on, but they were definitely gone yesterday.
Is that picture you posted from a tabloid JC?

I zoomed in on them and they don't look like footprints at all, I can't post them because I don't have a web address to refer to, so I'll email them to someone who know's what to do with them; these are interesting too because the look nothing like footprints. More like two stains. And yes, thats the dresser the match book was sitting on, what bothered me is that it was sitting more to JonBenet's bed than it was the spare bed. |

The maketoast web sight has a different picture than this. It doesn't show the left side of the bed.
