Default Final Day in Court

Memorial Service for Murdered Couple

Friday, January 26, 6:18 p.m.

By Kurt Aaron

A Bradford County attorney and his wife who were killed two months ago were remembered this afternoon in a memorial service.

David Keeffe and his wife, Carol, were found shot to death in their Athens Township home in November.

Friends and family members gathered at the Bradford County courthouse in Towanda to honor the Keeffes.

"A number of lawyers and judges will pay tribute to David Keeffe, who was widely known in this area and beyond as a wonderful trial lawyer," said Keeffe family spokesman Paul Lyon.

After the memorial colleagues spoke about Keeffe and his wife, Carol.

"It's very important that the public put a face together. He wasn't just a lawyer, he was a father, grandfather and a great person," said Jonathan Foster of the Bradford County Bar Association.

Friends of Keeffe said it is a tradition to have what they call a final day in court. That's why the held the memorial service at courthouse.

Investigators still have no leads in the Keeffe murder case. That has frustrated everyone involved. Family and friends want to remind people there is a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murders of the prominent couple.

"If anyone knows anything we would like them to contact the police. Let them know that we can't allow this type of crime to occur," Foster added.

If you have information about the Keeffe's murders you can contact state police at 570-265-2186.

Default Jc,

Yes, that is sad. Both the daughter, accompanied by her husband, and the son from New York attended the Final Day at the Courthouse memorial.

I don't think there is any reason to suspect close family at all. They seem like a very devoted and caring family.

Going out from that inner circle, well, just don't know. I don't see why or how anyone could hate this lovely couple enough to assassinate them in such a brutal fashion. Not a soul has a bad word to say about either of them.

I am going back to my original theory of a random crime by some sociopath.

I hope this case continues to get the attention it deserves. There's that $100,000 reward out there.

The PA State Police are now involved in the high profile murder of the Gay Porn King, Bryan Kocis. He was found this week in his home in Luzerne County with his throat slashed, and the house burnt down. He was a multimillionaire from making and distributing "twink" porn...that's porn of young men aged 18 to 25.

He was involved in a million-dollar lawsuit with one of his former "stars"...Sean Lockhart aka "Brent Corrigan".

GOOGLE on any of these names will bring up a lot more about this case...it is too lurid for this crime board.

Anyway, I hope it doesn't divert resources away from the Keefe case.

Well, if it was someone close to the Keeffes, it might have been a hit. The thing is, with their security system, someone knew how to get up there either unseen, or knew the Keeffe's wouldn't be alarmed for some reason. That's the best lead.

I hope they solve it. But it looks like they may not. Whoever did it was organized and left little evidence, it seems.

Default Nothing New on This Case.

This double murder is fast becoming a cold case. No new leads have come in, despite the $100,000 reward.

I google this case every few days, Lurker. It's definitely not being worked by the media.

Default Five Months

Five months since the Keeffes were murdered in their own home, and no arrest yet.

May they rest in peace, but I don't see how they can while their murderer(s) are still on the loose.

I don't see how this case is taking so long. Another po dunk police force being stymied by a family that is comprised of LAWYERS?

Of course, I have no idea if it's someone from the family. And I don't know why anyone in the family would protect the killer, after what he did.

But then again, I feel that way about the Ramseys, and we see how viciously they protect the killer.

Default Googling around...

...on David Keeffe, I found this:

SAYRE, PA, Pennsylvania law firm focusing on, Criminal Law, Dog Bites, Eminent Domain.

I wonder if anyone had to have a dog put down because of litigation by Keeffe? Have the PA. State Police looked into this angle?

Default Reward Raised to $118,000

Murder Investigation Gone Cold
Last Update: May 1, 2007 8:48 PM

Athens

Family members say the investigation into the murders of a prominent Bradford County lawyer and his wife has gone cold. The reward for information has gone up again to try and track down their killer.

The double murder of David and Carol Keeffe last year shocked the community. The Keeffe's were found shot to death in the garage of their Athens Township home last November. The reward for information has been increased to 118 thousand dollars from 100 thousand.

Again, family members tell us there are no new leads in the investigation. Our calls to Pennsylvania State Police were not returned.
