FLY!!! GOOD GOD!! YOUR DAUGHTER IS KIDNAPPED BY TERRORISTS AND YOU THINK IT'S OKAY TO SEND YOUR SON AWAY WITH A LONE WOMAN INSTEAD OF KEEPING HIM BY YOUR SIDE IN A HOUSE FULL OF COPS?

    uhhhhhh...

Cookie I don't have your e-mail address here at work. You can e-mail me here at bcooksey@acclaim.com

    otherwise occupied

BobC - Maybe I'm crazy, but yes, I can imagine sending the kid elsewhere. If they'd wanted the other kid, they'd have taken/killed him at the same time as the first. Plus, they are otherwise occupied, we assume, dealing with the "kidnapped" kid. How much danger would he be in at that point? I think any hesitation about letting him go would be more focused on whether he'd be scared/confused more than on whether he'd be safe.

Cookie - You've got your own thread over yonder at jameson's.

IMHO, you need to forward the post by Jameson to your attorney post haste. Talk about slander and defamation of character!

    Edited to say:

Since it is clear by Jameson's attack on Cookie that hir does not believe Cookie is who she says she is, I will state that Cookie's membership here was checked out very carefully for obvious reasons and we have no doubts about Cookie being who she represents herself to be.

I am wondering however, if Jammysue posted hir nasty comments simply to drive people over to the swamp to read. Perhaps hir has some reader quota to maintain in order to satisfy the RST and stay in their "loop."

    perhaps

Perhaps hir only has a very different story to tell that is more favorable to her perspective.

Quota? LOL When will you realize that jameson gets her reward in ways other than some literal payoff from the Ramseys.

I find that a bit hard to swallow, Fly, especially if you really, really try to put yourself in that house that morning under those circumstances. I wouldn't let that kid go anywhere without a police escort. Que sera sera.

Anyway--so Fly do you find it odd that they didn't bother to ask Burke if, say, he might have heard something or seen something, seeing that he was in the next room?

    For Jameson

Thanks so much for your post today. Unfortunately, it was packed full of lies (big surprise). Interesting that you seem to feel that you know so much about my visit to the Stine house and you weren't even there! LOL

Your post sounds so much like Susan Stine. I heard that you were old friends? Is that true?

Sticks and Stones.........Is that all you can do is to threaten people with lawsuits? Don't you and the RAMS have anything better to do?

I might suggest that you immediately pass GO, and hence, enroll yourself in charm school. You desperately need it.

    Get a life!

BobC - Different strokes... But as I've said, it's all a guess when you're not really facing it.

If I were thinking clearly, I probably wouldn't wake him up to ask right away. Afterall, if he hadn't alerted me to any problem when it occurred, I'd probably figure he hadn't been aware of anything. At least not anything that would really be useful in the immediate situation. Later I'd want to know, of course.

Of course, I doubt I'd be thinking clearly, so I might immediately be hauling him out of bed and asking, whether or not there would be any real point right then.

Do we know for sure that they (or the police) didn't ask him anything that morning? If they didn't, why blame the parents for something the police ought to have done?

BobC, I'll say again that although certain things DO seem odd or not the ideal thing to do, you can't be too sure that those things are the result of guilt or just the insanity of the situation. Could be either.

Don't think that I view the Ramseys' behavior as completely without suspicion, because that's not the case. I'd consider those (in)actions in the whole scheme of things. I just don't think they are clearly one thing or another.

I guess the way I'd put it is that the more unambiguous a piece of evidence is, the bigger the rock it represents. If you have several big rocks, you've got a pretty good wall, but it'll have some chinks. Those ambiguous bits are little stones that might, well fill those chinks and play a significant role in proving the case, but are not likely to produce a wall by themselves. The sorts of things we've been discussing recently are mostly small stones, IMO.

Right--and it is the TOTALITY of the evidence that matters. I could reason away some things, but when you have to reason away five hundred things, then there's something hinky going on.

I don't fault Hunter for not indicting them--if the evidence isn't there then it isn't there. The thing that bugs the hell of me, however, is how Hunter and company insisted forever that focusing on the two people in the house with the dead girl was crazy or wrong-headed. The FBI teaches that you start at ground zero and when you clear the people who had proximity to the body you move outward in widening circles to friends, family and acquaintances. DeMuth taking a job with Patsy's former lawyer was a perfectending to this sorry story.

    A Whimp

In our present court system, BobC, people get indicted for the most bogus things. Alex is known for his "deal-making" abilities and as far as I am concerned, he showed his true character of whimpiness with this case. If the murder had occurred with another family, that was not as rich or connected as the Ramseys, things would have been different. Our court system is prejudice.

BobC I totally agree. It's the totality of the events.

I go 'round and 'round on this with my husband.

One, two, three, four or five strange events I might be able to chalk it up to "shock" or "the Ramseys' are just different than us" .

If you could make a list of unusual or questionable behavior or events it would be very, very, long. The list wouldn't pass the giggle test.

Cookie, I have enjoyed reading your posts, as I always find it interesting to hear from an "insiders" point of view. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. :)

I believe this is the first time that I've read or heard of the "playing doctor" issue between Burke and JonBenét. However, I have heard that JonBenét often got into bed with Burke at night. You would think that John and Patsy would be concerned about this if "playing doctor" was becoming a frequent occurence, and was beginning to be such a problem...

    Burke was interviewed

    Fly,

After the Ramsey house was secured by 1:50 pm. the afternoon of December 26, Burke was interviewed in the White's house by Detective Patterson, while Linda Arndt went to see the Ramseys at the Fernie's home. [PMPT page 23] Patterson confirmed what he had been told earlier ...that the boy had slept through the events of the previous night. Of course, we all know different now ... that Burke was pretending to be asleep.

    What I Wonder

is why Burke was still at the White's while the rest of the Ramseys apparently were at the Fernie's. Why when one of their children has just been found brutally murdered were they not all together. Strange.!!!

    my gut feeling......about burke.

burke was hustled away that fateful monring......because he DID know some things. he had been in the house all that night...the night of the murder. he knew what happened!

he either had been awakened by the scream that night.....or
he had been awakened by patsy screaming for john early that morning......or he was awakened because he knew he was going on a trip that morning. it was not a morning for a kid to sleep in.
    he was awake.

why do you think the ramsey's have lied all this time about burke being awake? he KNEW something. if he wasnt involved himself, he knew something was wrong that night....and that morning.
and he knew his family. and he knew how his parents acted and reacted to situations. he knew how they thought!

i know this may seem silly. but i can relate to burke in the fact that i am the oldest sibling in my family. its just inborn to know what is going on.......to take care of situations......to be hidden but to clue in on all the emotions/issues that surround the family.
    oldest kids know a lot.

and when burke said "what was found" that morning...he already knew what had been found. he just wanted to find out how his parents would answer the question. he knew a lot!

and then he was quieted. not just for that moment, but for the rest of his life. it was not ok for him to say what he was thinking.
it was not ok for him to speak up. it was not ok for him to feel his emotions during this traumatic moment. it was not ok for burke to be himself.

and then when he was rushed off.....he knew why he was being rushed off.....he was very intuitive. he knew what he knew.
but he had been silenced. they didnt need him anymore.
the ramseys had taken care of everything.....without burke's input....just like they had handled him his whole life especially since jonbenet came along. burke was a non-entitiy, and he knew it!

i understand that burke was finally interviewed, but not before the ramseys got to him and coached him. he had been silenced for life...and he knew to disobey his parents would mean a life of punishment for him. he knew not to "break" the code of silence. he knew not to tell the family secrets. he knew things were not right in his family. he was highly intelligent that way.

and then the funeral came along. well, the fact that he did not sit with his family was very planned. it wasnt just something that happened. it was well thought out. and again burke knew why.
but it still hurt him deeply. it is a wound that has never been healed. he was used to being pushed aside. he was used to not being in the spotlight. his heart grieved heavily then. and his heart grieves heavily now.

but burke knew he would be rewarded in other ways.
he would get as many cool toys as he wanted.....that was the way it always worked. and the cool toys would keep him from
being with other kids....thus his social skills among children his own age....and his social skills with adults....would always be lacking......until.........

    until what???

until patsy and john die......burke will be silenced. until he can become his own person, burke is silenced. he lives within the walls of his own heart. it is so very sad.

but the truth will win. the truth will be known one day.
and burke will be the person to tell it all. he will need major therapy. he will need major support from "whole" people.
    it will be difficult, but

he will finally stand up and not be silenced. he will be able to be the burke that was always meant to be before this tragedy!

i am praying for that day!

    My experience as a kid....

Is similar to Purr's...if a situation was bigger or more adult than day to day happenings, that required a certain 'silence'....later you could decide whether to ask, but, being ill equipped to deal with the larger more adult situation, I rarely asked...it was almost taboo.

To this day, there are things I have never asked about.

    Purr's Analysis

Very well analyzed, Purr. Whatever time this murder was committed, the Ramseys must have had ample time to instruct Burke on his rules and regulations before the 911 call was made; whether it was him, or one of the parents who committed the murder. Almost the touch of the Mafia here.

Elle, to me there is no question that Burke was coached on what to say. What kid of 9 says "I wanted to get on with my life"? I read he said that in some interview with either a cop or a psychologist. Yeah, they had time to do that.

    it seems you all agree

thanks, mell, for sharing that about you and your family.
i feel that burke has yet to stand up and say anything.
i cant wait until he is "unburdened". i feel so very, very sad for him.

and thanks, elle, for the compliment. it is not so much an analysis as a heartfelt feeling. and i do feel for burke.

and thanks, thor, for sharing that quote.
if that isnt a coached answer....i dont know what is.
i remember john saying the very same thing in their very first interview on the larry king show.

i hope others on this forum get to read what i wrote.
i look forward to their comments.

Interesting quote from a poster over at WS named Mother. They say that at JonBenet's funeral, Burke asked Patsy "Does this mean I can't play with JonBenet anymore?"

This was quoted to the poster by a woman who heard him say this. This kid is odd as hell.
