Hope everyone had a nice turkey day. Lurker, I hope little Aidan gets through his bronchitis ok.

I spent the day with my daughter and little Carl. He had a little respiratory thing going on, but is on medicine and is doingfine. He raised his arms up for me to hold him, I about melted.

Lurker, I sure pray that your little grandson is already feeling better and will heal very soon. It's hard when little tinies have to be admitted. But the doctors and nurses are great and know what to do to heal them.

    Tis the day after Thanksgiving

And I'm still grateful. I did something I've wanted to do for years and years for this Thanksgiving. I worked in the kitchen of the local parish hall to feed the hungry and poor and lonely or so the dinner was billed. When I got there the many volunteers were running around the huge kitchen doing all sorts of things. After about 10 min I could see it was organized chaos. The job I was given was drying dishes so I stayed in one corner of the huge kitchen almost all of my hours there. I never saw so much silverware in my life. I have no idea how many were fed but I do know that the turkey was all gone as was the ham. The ham (they had 3 of the huge beasts) was held back for reserve just in case they ran out of turkey. Well they did so the ham was brought out and heated. They were those honey baked spiral cuts things. Oh they are good. Anyway I observed a lot from corner in the sink. AT one point we ran out of dry towels and the lady in charge went to KMart to buy new ones. I offered to take the towels home to dry them in my dryer but she thought buying new ones was best. I live just around the corner from the church and hall. On and on went the drying of dishes. Somewhere near the end of the day another lady in charge came over to ask me if I wanted a cold drink. I said that would be great and instead she brought me a full cup of wine. Boy, now that made the drying go easier all by itself. Then as my cup became empty she refilled again and I could on and on for my hours with the drying. When it came to the huge pots and pans that was sort of a signal that the end was near. After drying about 10 of those huge stock pots and 15 of the serving dishes, trays and liners and all the kitchen utensils also of the huge variety the end was now in sight. (They had a whisk that over 3 feet long) By then a professional cleaning crew came in and began to clean the whole kitchen. And there we were still washing and drying. It got to be a joke after awhile. But I didn't care after all that wine. I kept saying brinng it on!!! Well 3 and 1/2 hours later we were finished and I walked home. I was very hungry by the time I got home as I hadn't eaten anything while there. I didn't know we could. I also wasn't sure if I had eaten would some other person have gone without. So I got my own turkey started in the oven. Then I went to rest. By then I was beat and standing all that time really isn't good for my knees. Walking is ok but just standing a lot isn't. So I sunk into my comfy chair and stayed there until the timer went off in the kitchen. AH what a delight it was to have fresh turkey and trimmings even though I was dead tired. I will do it again there is no doubt about all of that that. What a fun day to share with cheerful workers all strangers to me at first and then good firneds when I left. God bless them each one!

    Thank You, All...

Your prayers and good wishes for Aidan were most effectual. He was kept in the hospital overnight, on oxygen, and constantly watched. Today he is breathing free and easy. When I called, he was home, sitting in his high chair, eating his favorite--grilled chicken from MacDonald's.

Diagnosis: RSV...some kind of rhinovirus going around that makes the little ones very ill, but only for a short time. He has a vaporizer going in his bedroom and has been given medication. They are almost certain it is the virus, and not an asthma that would be longterm.

    Thanks again, everyone.

    Thanks, Lurker

for letting us know about Aiden. The little ones suffer so quickly but then when they get better it is just as fast. Thank goodness he is back home and eating his fav snack. This group of posters are the best there is no doubt.

Oh, so glad to hear the baby is out of the woods, Lurker. Whew. Nothing brings worry like a sick little one. Glad his medical care was top notch. Thanks for the update.

  19. Yeah... just moved into my new place a week ago (from Cape Cod to Vegas).

Sheesh... I'm still recovering from flying with a 45 lb dog on the plane (*headache*). I'm waiting for a ton of my stuff thats on its way (mail) and getting used to the dry climate. It's awesome here - very glittery ("oh, look! something shiny!" :p ) - I've never seen so many payday loan offices... hmmm...

    Anyways, how has everyone been?

*blows kisses to KK, Tricia and heymom*
