I'm wondering if the new Boulder team will investigate Lou Smit's theory, Little, or will they ignore it because it would be a complete waste of time? I would like to see him getting hauled over the coals for his mistakes.

IMO Smit could be charged with obstruction of justice for his actions in this case, but chances of that are zero. His punishment will hopefully be that he will be completely discredited. As a dear friend told me the other day

    Very funny stuff, guttah gossips!

I found this today, and looking at Smit, comparing him to this idiot judge who obviously bought Smit's spin--packing peanut, intruder under the bed, stun gunned piggies and all, I thought this is as good a place as any to put it: someone rated Judge Carnes as ONE STEP ABOVE AWFUL in her courtroom scholarship and industriousness.

Did I mention she got a 1--that being "awful"--in "evenhandedness in civil litigation"?

    That explains a lot.

    Delusional Lou

As for Lou Smit, I get soo furious every time I read his inane intruder
theory!! How that idiot got his reputation as a great detective is
    beyond me.
A poster at Topix gave an illustrative example of a staged scene from
an older crime fiction book (Chesterton's 'Father Brown' series):
The killer, when staging the scene to misdirect the police, put the
dead victim at his desk facing the window, pierced an arrow through his
body and then opened the window wide.
Can you imagine the "conclusions" Lou Smit would have drawn form the
    scene?
Lou: "I see an open window there. And there is an arrow in the victim's
body facing that window. This means the killer shot that arrow through
the open window. I see the perp standing there, aiming at the victim ..."

Sadly, Lou Smit was allowed to ro run wild with similar nonsensical
    conclusions in the JBR case.
I hope they have the common sense NOT to reactivate that dunce Smit for
the reinvestigation. Should he show up again, he will ruin everything
once again. For THAT's a field where is very "talented" indeed.

I shot an arrow into the air, and where it fell I know not where(?) Or, I don't care! (?). You know I feel the same frustration with Lou Smit as you do, rashomon. [IMG]
