Okay, I found the entire scene and Bennett is doing her usual spinning and frothing at the mouth. She has only posted bits and pieces of this chapter to make it appear Davis' book is pornographic.

BENNETT, SEEK PSYCHIATRIC HELP IMMEDIATELY!!! Do yourself and family a favor -- COMMIT YOURSELF TO THE NEAREST MENTAL HOSPITAL!!

I just received an email from Tricia and it suggests for me that I should make a further statement with regard to the excerpts jameson (susan bennett) is running. By the way, in doing so she violates copyright law! My play is, indeed, graphic. What I want audiences to see is what sexual abuse does to the heart and psyche of the abused. I can understand that for some of you this violates the memory you have of JonBenet. All I can say--in the frankest terms and with tears welling up as I speak--is that my play is an act of love. For her and for all the others violated. Love for all of us takes many forms. Mine takes the form of psychological honesty. If you've read Faulkner on Caddy (the heroine of his greatest novel) or Toni Morrison on "Beloved" (and her love for that character in her greatest novel) you know that love often takes the most painful forms. For we must suffer with those we love--not simply cherish pleasant memories. Some of you will be shocked by Jolie, the main character in my play. And so I should say something that may be suprising. She is for me the most honest, courageous, and beautiful woman I've ever been able to imagine. And that's why I love her. Like all silly writers, I hope you'll love her too--or at least see that there is nothing pornographic about her. She comes from a place of great psychological trauma--and the honesty that an honest confrontation with trauma brings. (I am pained that some of you are pained by what I must repeat are quotes wrenched from their context. In terms of what happens in the play I think you'll see her grandeur.)

May I have permission to post the book excerpt on two other forums that I post on? That way folks can see for themselves that Bennett is spewing and frothing at nothing.

Please don't let her bother you! She is rabid!

Misty 4, please don't reproduce the excerpts. I want everyone to see them in context in the book. By the way, I just received my first email from jameson. Kinda scary stuff. All this is upsetting and I'm trying to stay on top of it, but I don't think I'll make any further posts today. As luck would have it, my writing on my new book is going pretty good right now and I want to spend the rest of the day with it. (if jameson comes can wood be far behind? ). What amazes me is the pathetic nature of their cheap shots.

    That's kewl; I won't post it.

Just remember, "Jameson" on the internet is a psychotic abuser. In reality, Susan Bennett is afraid of her own shadow.

She went after a professor, Donald Foster, as "Jameson" and now obsesses over him. Foster has become her trophy. The behavior is similar to serial killers who are compulsive over their kills -- they keep reliving to continue to experience the high. But, Donald Foster fell into the trap unaware -- you have the advantage.

If Susan Bennett's attacking you, you must have touched a nerve. Don't let it bother you too much.

    Raising JonBenet
A Review of "Cowboy's Sweetheart" by Walter Davis
    By ADAM ENGEL

We all remember the baby face that launched a thousand hard-ons (at least) the Winter of 1996-1997. She dressed like Mae West and moved like Josephine Baker and she was only six years old. Those who remember the commotion caused when the twelve-year-old Brook Shields bared her hypothetical boobs in "Pretty Baby" can only imagine what might have come between THIS twelve-year-old and her Calvins. They can only imagine because JonBenet Ramsey never reached the ripe old age of twelve. She barely lived past six"

    ~*~*~*~*~*~***~

I'm not at all happy with the first sentence of this interview, but the rest is a great read.

For Jameson, please, if Limpwood is going to start suing for pornography involving JonBenet, Mr Davis must surely have a long line to wait in, right?

That does tell it like it is.

She was sexed up and the end result of that is making men horny. There can be no other reason to make your child look ,act and dress sexy other than to make sex come to mind in the onlooker. It's very vulgar but its the truth.

I was troubled by the first sentence of Engel's review also. But I found the rest a real effort to wrestle with the work. And he also did a fine job in condensing what was a 2 hour phone interview. I hote that one thing that didn't come through fully was the information on my website where I have now made available all the legal papers on the Trust that I've established so that all money due me from the book and from productions of the play will be donated to organizations who work on behalf of sexually abused children. My website is: http://people.english.ohio-state.edu/davis.65. Aside from accusing me of porn, jameson and her crowd are assuring one another--on their website--that I wrote my book just to make money. The irony of this charge, assuming jameson takes her lead from l. wood, is compelling. My hope, of course, is that all this will lead people to the book and increase the likelihood that the fight against the sexual and psychological abuse of children can become a focal part of its message. p.s. There are also some moving reviews on amazon. I know a lot of yahoos will attack the book. I can only tell you how moved I am to find genuine readers out there. I should add for those not aware of it. The review referred to here and in the post to which it replies is in the current, Nov.8-9, edition of the online journal Counterpunch. See www.counterpunch.org. It is article 14, by Adam Engel, titled "Raising JonBenet." Counterpunch is an offshoot of the great journal THE NATION. And I'm told that it's weekend edition is read by 50-70 thousand readers. Thus I'm grateful to Adam Engel (who informed me by email earlier today that he has already been contacted twice by jameson.) What is that Betty Davis line: "fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a rocking evening."

    Question

Does anyone recall where the story about John putting the scarf into the coffin came from?

That's rich, isn't it? How soon they forget that the LHL (little head leader), made a pretty penny off the her good friends the Ramseys and JonBenet's death when she sold transcripts to the NE for $40,000. She has justified it though, she was helping the Ramseys.

And what about the Ramseys themselves - how much have they made so far off their daughter's death. The book sales, the lawsuits, the private appearances at various media outlets. And Lin Wood has admittedly made enough to buy at least one thoroughbred and a Jaguar. I'll bet JonBenet would have loved to ride a horse if she had lived. Oh well, at least someone is doing something in her name, eh?

This story was in Chapter 5 "Saying Goodbye" page s 40-41 paperback, in "Death of Innocence" where the family are all placing their last tokens of love with JonBenét. John Ramsey had recently purchased a silk scarf and Patsy states that he tucked it around JonBenét as if surrounding her with a blanket of love.
