Aurora and Niner--from the first time Patsy said she was "cured" of cancer, I was confused as to what she meant by that. Cancer runs in my family, and I've had friends as young as 21 develop cancer, and yet I never heard anybody but Patsy say she or he was cured. I heard the term "in remission" a lot, of course, but that term means exactly what Aurora said it means--you can cut the grass but it's still proably going to grow.

I used to think people were being mean and nasty when they implied Patsy was getting cheap attention with these constant bouts with Deaths Door, but now I think they were right. If you go all the way back to the original CNN infomercial, you will see Patsy making cryptics remarks as to how "it wouldn't be long now" before she saw Jonbenet again. That was almost a decade ago. Talk about a drama queen.

    Drama Queen

Yes, BobC - she's the queen of all dramas. I've had problems disregarding her struggle with cancer, because of how awful it really is, but come on, you can't "Beat" cancer five times.

But how about this? Miss Thang only gets into the news now when she starts to croak and then comes back from death's door. How about she sits down with one of the big talk show ladies - Oprah, or Katie, or Diane - and confesses all? That would feed her beast and make her a true star. She could weep and shake and call to Jesus, etc. She would go down in history.

Best of all, I bet that the Boulder DA still would not indict her!!!

Sometimes I think that our girl sold the whole ransom/kidnapping idea to John after stating fiercely, actually over JonBenet's dead body, that she wasn't going to spend her last days in jail - when she still thought she'd be joining JonBenet soon. She wrote a play about a kidnapping on the morning of Dec 26. Problem is, it needs a last act. It could be like the end of Titanic, only Patsy goes down with the ship.

For anyone who takes anything to the extreme...we label them "professional" or "perpetual"...

    "professional" or "perpetual"...student
    "professional" or "perpetual"...victim

and on and on and on...and hence, this makes Patsy the consumate "professional" or "perpetual"...

    • "professional" ex-beauty queen
    • "perpetual"...drama queen
    • "professional"...fabricator
    • "perpetual"...wannabe
    • "professional"...SURVIVOR
Until someday, somehow, somewhere when she least expects it (no this is not candid camera) the options will run out, and...her flame will be extinguished:

I absolutely adore Tammy Faye Bakker. I even own the documentary "The Eyes of Tammy Faye." It's a documentary of her life story, and she's had something like 50 husbands/boyfriends and every single one ends up in prison, as poor Tammy sobs uncontrollably. It's awesome!!

Hey Bobc did you see her in the Surreal life...it was pretty good she came across as very human. I've had a soft spot for her ever since.

I have to say I don't know what to make of Tammy Faye. She reminds me so much of Patsy Ramsey in the drama queen department, but it's obvious that she has suffered. Like Patsy, she seems to keep ticking in spite of her bouts with recurring cancer.

The difference is, I care about Tammy Faye and her suffering.

I don't give much of a rip about PR's drama queen cancer revelations anymore.

DID I SEE HER IN THE SURREAL LIFE?!!! That's like asking if I breath air! YES!! I gawked at every trashy minute! God how I love washed up celebrities! The Surreal life was when I really cameto adore Tammy Faye! She is so sweet and non-judgemental and kind. I just love her! Anything's better than that crybaby Vanilla Ice.

My new favorite celebrity is Janice Dickinson, the World's First Super Model--but for completely different reasons. Janice is the most shamelessly bitchy woman on the planet! I'd like to follow her around waiting for something awful to happen!

LOL, I couldn't stand Janice until she was in Surreal life and took on Omarossa. Now that lady needed to be taken down.

Janice is fun to hate. If not for her, the whole Surreal Life season wouldda been a snooze fest.

Bob C you crack me up!!!! I must confess I find Tammy a fascinating personality. Poor girl can't help but be attracted to the criminal element in men.

Hopefully WY Patsy's current 15 minutes of fame will be done with for at least a couple more years.

I am not a fan of reality TV.

Yet...if you channel surf...one day...and you pause for a moment to figure out what these strange people are doing...or you read in the news that Tammy Faye has dramatically left the show after being exposed to a nude male...and you find yourself wondering who on earth would expose himself to Tammy Faye on a broadcast network sponsored program...and you...just...can't...believe...what...you...are...seeing...like a reality show featuring aliens from space and how they live....

OHMIGOD! IT'S MY FELLOW CITIZENS FROM THE PLANET SuRztuN! Who knew they were on tv?!

And I was hooked. What an incredibly strange show. Most incredible, by the end, I thought Tammy Faye is the most naive, sweet, and surprisingly genuine celebrity on tv. I mean, when the queen of Christian sobbing and runny eye makeup bonds with the king of porn sleeze...AND IT'S SO BELIEVABLE...what can you do but WATCH?! I watch her on LKL, as well. Her cancer show...saw it! She's up there with Dolly Parton for me. Uniquely irresistable in their wackiness because what you see is what you get.

Now Janice...and Omarosa...yeah...I watched them, as well. For an entirely different reason. Like I watched Bonaduce. I can't put it more honestly than Cathy Griffin did: I was waiting to see how far they'd take it before they'd cut the show with the announcement that so and so was hospitalized/dead.... Not that I wanted that to happen, but nobody asked me, did they? They certainly seemed to be determined to have the world watch them implode...and like a train wreck...looking away is very hard. I mean, how much money does it take to get these people to act this way in front of a camera? I have no idea....

But now I think there's really another reason we watch: afterwards, we feel strangely comforted that we're much closer to being normal people than we might have previously suspected. :sponge:

    Not so fast....

You know...too bad Patsy's play for TV Christian martyr failed so miserably. I think she would have been GREAT on the Surreal Life!

Oh, if that show wanted to hit the reality tv jackpot, they should have PATSY on the show!

Can you imagine? Oh, I can!

OK, guttah gossips, STEP UP TO THE PLATE! Who's our cast?

Kold--I met Dolly Parton in 1989! She was really really sweet.

No way! And you dissed Dianna Ross in person, too? What a glamerous life you lead, BobC!

I saw Dolly in concert in N.C. once, at one of those theme parks, 25 years ago. It was so hot, her makeup was sliding off her face. But she soldiered on. I bought a t-shirt to commemorate the event. I wore it proudly in dance classes, where having a shirt on my chest that pointed up the large differences between Dolly and me wasn't a downside. (hehehe I'm cracking myself up with puns here!)
