Glad you could finally hear something! I knew the headphones would be a great idea, I had that same response when I finally put mine on and tried to listen for "Help me Jesus" and budda bing, there she was; it was right after I listened to the end potion that I decided to clear up the parts of the 911 transcript that were marked "(unintelligible)".

The reason my file is a little clearer is because I removed all the hissing, clicks and pops with CooEdit Pro, I guess I hadn't noticed the difference after listening to it so many times.

It's better to be safe than sorry, I'm wondering if I sent you a file that's been amplified a few decibles and has the hissing removed again, if you wouldn't just be able to hear it.

I theorize that everyone can hear something right?.
The expert heard "Hon we need em" and I've heard "Hurry right in" and Tricia offered some prime examples of things that sound like what we can all hear, I just would certainly encourage everyone here with the know-how to download audio programs SHOULD DO IT, mess around with it and see what you can hear. Changing the amps and removing background noise MAY help some people but it seems to hinder others chances at hearing anything clearly. So, if everyone get's some kind of audio program and works with it that way they will probably get a better idea; this whole "click the link" to hear has obviously just shown us the limits with which it works within; some people need the tape further augmented and some need nothing done to it at all.

Does anyone else think this could be why there's so many discrepancies regarding the audio??

I will admit that even though I have CoolEdit Pro and I have used it in every possible way I could, I still can't for the life of me hear more than one male voice (in between the 911 operators 2nd and 3rd "Patsy") This is why I believe the problem here lies within all of us at one time or another, I just keep listening and hoping it will jump out at me.

you heard a male voice at the end of the tape? I can't hear anything except Patsy's voice. I'm going to have to get my butt in gear and download a program to help me filter out the crap to get to the nitty gritty.

JIC ... There's no doubt about it, your file is much clearer and the speed is slower,and "Hurry right in!" can be heard, but where this command fits in to mean anything, I don't have a clue (?).
I am amazed nevertheless that this extra speech is present.
Was this 911 tape copied from FFJ or some other place? I don't hear any male voice after the operator speaks. The earphones made a big difference, thank you!

As WY posted earlier, it would be nice to know that one had the original tape in their hands.

God...Hur, we need an amuPOLICE. She thinks Patsy started to say they needed an ambulance then corrected herself to stay police. This is after she listened to the tape at varying volumes through earphones.

This is really interesting - the mumbled words are close in all the interpretations. Thanks to poster at Purg. That's definitely another possibility and would make sense.

could you please download the whole call
with that controversial beginning and ending.........

oh by the way, i did hear the mumbling words
at the beginning.......i hear only 3 words...

so i dont think it says ...hon, and 3 more words.

i dont know if the first word is hurry,
but to my ears it is NOT hon.

and again, just my hearing observations so far.

i am just guessing.....

That's the part JIC wanted us to here, but it would be nice to hear the full tape without the disortion at the end.

Anyway the file you will see is the full version, slowed down and cleaned up (no pops, cracks or hisses)

 

Well, I listened to this and finally heard something. IMO, it sounds like Patsy's saying the ambulance thing that the poster from Purgatory said. It almost sounds like she was starting to say "we need an ambulance" and then catches herself, saying police. Arrest them. Now.

 

Yeppers, I went back & listened over & over to the original link Tricia posted. No question in my mind. She says "we need an am" then a slight pause (like in uh-oh, I flucked up), then "police." Very clearly, IMO. What floors me is it took that long to discover what could possibly be this 5,304,118 uh-oh moment from these people. If this is indeed what is being said, why didn't this get discovered by the folks doing the enhancing? 7 years ago? I think this is an amazing find.

Different versions of the tape (?)

I copied Tricia's file to a CD and I don't hear what you're hearing, Thor. I hear "Hurry right in! Police" and then she states "755 15th street" Oh good grief, this is confusing! I just listened to it again and still hear the same.

Justincase posted her file which just has the first few words at a slower speed, and very clearly I heard "Hurry right in" ...but I just tried it a few minutes ago and it wouldn't even play for me. :-(

Don't know if thats because this is being slowed down and perhaps it sounds different in regular speed but that is definetly what I hear, pretty darn clear too.


I also hear something like Sorry even before the operator speaks....and Patsy says Hurry.

i heard something different right now.......

but i do agree the last word is POLICE and
then she states her address.

so listen again.....with a "clean palate".

and then we can discuss........again.

again, listen to it carefully.......and you count
how many times she says it.
