Rachel Cooke, 19, vanished while jogging near her parents' home two years ago. RC, Do you think this new task force will have better search powers? That is, will they be able to go over properties that were formerly off-limits because owners would not give their consent?
Yes, of course. They will want to go by the book, in case they are ever able to bring to trial the person responsible. But once in awhile, I can't help wishing they could do things like they did 100 years ago, before Miranda and the ACLU and all the things that allow criminals to have more rights than their victims.
