But that's just it, Elle--I am not even convinced that he's actually sexually attracted to children. He's been around hundreds of kids in various teaching positions and all anyone said happened was that he yelled at them a lot. There is, as far as I know, not a single accusation that he's tried to do anything physical with any child. It looks like he downloaded some kiddie porn, but my gut feeling is he was trying to make his claims about JBR seem more credible.

So you have this guy who is married and straight, who is a pathological liar and attention grabber, who tried to initiate a sex change, who had anger issues, who moved around the globe from job to job, who downloaded kiddie porn but never acted on the supposed impulse, who injected himself into high profile case, etc.

To me, this all adds up to a guy who has no idea what he is or is supposed to be, rather than your typical pedophile who knows exactly what he is. Identity confusion.

Also--what kind of "pedophile" confesses to being a pedophile before he molests anybody? Why was he confessing to that wierd lady for years, and yet there's nada evidence that he ever did anything with a little girl?

Pedophiles operate in total secrecy because they want to be able to continue having sex with kids without getting caught, obviously. If you are confessing before doing the crime, it spells attention whore to me.

I see what you mean, Bob. He sure is a frightening specimen, whatever he is (?). I hope he will never be allowed near any children. He's not to be trusted. I think they should have him in a hospital under lock and key, until he is evaluated.

You're right as rain. Pedophiles will deny what they are doing until they are caught, and then they will blame the victim, society, anything but accept their culpability. I'm not convinced that Karr isn't just a sick person who got caught under the bus wheels. I haven't seen any real evidence that he has actually molested anyone, and to me, the sex change in process says he wants to be a little girl, not molest them.

Heymom... but then, what do I know?

Yeah I thought the same thing--that he wanted to be one, not molest one. Man how do people manage to get so phucked up?

It's being reported that his mother was whacko and tried to kill him by setting him on fire, and other stuff. Evidently she molested him his entire childhood. That's how.

Heymom, happy NOT to be a criminal psychologist...

Did anyone see Greta Van Susteren tonight? At the first of her show, she had a segment on Karr's release. Then one of her guests revealed a little news item I hadn't see yet.

Karr was seen at a school trying to get in the door. He was walking around trying to get in. In front of the school was a limo with TWO FEMALE PRODUCERS inside. A teacher recognized Karr and told the principal, who saw him as well and then called police. In the meantime, Karr got back in the limo and must have left, because the police STOPPED THE LIMO 6 blocks from the school. The producers were still in it, as well as Karr. Police let them go.

    Oh...so many questions....

Greta said if that was true about Karr trying to get into the school, he must be more disturbed than she thought. Then she said the producers must be disturbed as well.

But she pointed out Karr is a free man.

My guess is Karr was put up to applying for a job by the producers. Or maybe they wanted to see what would happen if he went to a school.

If he did this at the behest of a couple of producers ferrying him around in a liimo, then Karr is far more malleable than I suspected.

I don't think we've heard the last of Karr. Greta says she wants to talk to him.

Here's the news article below. I wish the media would get their information correct as he wasn't living in California in 1996 much less working at that school during that year. He may have stopped there to see somebody he once knew hoping they would be there but on the same token the "two people working for a national television news program" could have wanted to prove a point that people are terrorized of Karr's very presence.

John Mark Karr questioned by San Francisco Police
By Tamara Barak, Bay City News Service

    October 6, 2006

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - San Francisco police briefly detained John Mark Karr today after employees of an elementary school where he briefly worked reported him stepping out of a limousine and peering into the school's windows.

The incident occurred at Convent of the Sacred Heart at 2222 Broadway St. - less than 2 miles away from Karr's attorney's office, where a press conference was about to begin regarding Thursday's dismissal of child pornography charges Karr faced in Sonoma County. Karr did not appear at the press conference.

San Francisco police Sgt. Steve Mannina said that at 12:17 p.m., a worker called police and said Karr was in front of the school.

"According to witnesses, a limousine pulled up, he got out, went up to the school and was looking in the window," Mannina said.

The caller reported that Karr then tried to open the school's door, which was locked, then walked to an adjacent school and looked through its windows, Mannina said.

"He then got back into the limousine and it drove down Broadway," Mannina said.

A police officer pulled over the limousine a short time later, to find Karr in the back with two people working for a national television news program, Mannina said.

Police "determined there was no illegal activity occurring, so they had to let him go," Mannina said.

Robert Amparan, Karr's attorney, was not immediately available for comment.

Karr was a teaching assistant to Convent of the Sacred Heart's two third-grade teachers in 1996. He left after less than four weeks, saying he didn't like the job, school officials said.

Karr made international headlines in August after confessing to the 1996 murder of 6 year-old beauty pageant contestant JonBenet Ramsey.

He was subsequently arrested and extradited from Thailand, but authorities dropped all charges after DNA evidence failed to link him to the crime.

On Thursday, Karr was freed from the Sonoma County jail after prosecutors dropped the five misdemeanor child pornography charges filed against him in 2001.

Attorneys criticize media over handling of Karr case
    By Mary Anne Ostrom

    San Jose Mercury News

    (MCT)

SAN JOSE, Calif. - One day after Sonoma County authorities dropped child pornography charges against John Mark Karr, his defense lawyers lashed out at prosecutors and corporate media for trashing Karr's image with no evidence.

"With all of the publicity that this case has generated, no one has come forward with a single complaint that he has done anything wrong," Robert Amparan, Karr's lawyer, said Friday.
But with two dozen reporters huddled into a San Francisco law office, they also cracked jokes and said Karr was working with a media lawyer.

Asked by reporters what Karr planned to do, Amparan quipped, "I don't know where he is right now. I doubt he's applying to be a congressional page."

They also described how Karr incredulously asked "Really? Really? Really?" when Amparan told him the charges were being dropped. He also ignored authorities wishes that he depart from the jail out the back door. Instead, Amparan said, he wanted to walk out the front with his head high - the video of which was seen around the nation.

Then Karr proceeded with his legal team to San Francisco, where the group celebrated his release Thursday night at The Waterfront restaurant on San Francisco's Embarcadero. Karr ate chopped salad and steak and sipped Chardonnay.

    But many mysteries remain.

Yet Amparan said he was not authorized to talk about the very statements that launched Karr into the center of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case. After his arrest in Thailand seven weeks ago, he told reporters he was "with JonBenet when she died" and that her death was accidental.

Amaparan also refused to say who was paying Karr's legal costs or how he intended to make money or where he planned to live. Amparan said he believed Karr would make a public statement. Also, Amparan said he is working with a San Francisco media agent, who suggested Friday there is a lot of interest in Karr's story.

Amparan accused Sonoma County authorities of prosecutorial misconduct and withholding the fact that they had insufficient evidence to charge Karr in 2001 or execute the warrant in 2006. Karr does not plan to sue Sonoma County authorities, Amparan said, adding he's "trying to get on with his life." The loss of a computer containing key evidence left Sonoma without a case.

"We knew that images of graphic sexual acts involving very young children were on his computer and for that reason and that reason only we exhausted our resources in an effort to have him register as a sex offender for life," said Sonoma County District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua. "We felt when this case was filed in 2001 and we still feel that Mr. Karr poses a potential danger to children."

Asked why Karr skipped out on the child pornography charges in 2001, eventually ending up in Thailand, Amparan said Karr had lost his job and did not believe he would be fairly treated by the judicial system. He was also asked about Karr's interest in Ramsey and another murder victim Polly Klaas, whose graveside he once visited. Amparan said Karr had been researching a book but refused to say about what. He added that he believed Karr might still write a book.

"I think Mr. Karr has a lot to say. I think he's held his tongue for a long time. A lot of things have been said about him. He's waiting to get himself together after being in custody a long period of time and I believe he will be making a statement."

Christopher Reggie, a San Francisco entertainment lawyer said he had met with Karr while he was being held in a Sonoma County jail to advise him on media issues.

"He is committed to clarifying the image the media has of him and getting his own story, the real story out there," said Reggie, who counts former American Idol star LaToya London among his clients.

Asked if Karr intends to sell his story to a media outlet, Reggie laughed, "Is it a situation where he's going to have to go out and solicit?"

    Tril,
Sounds like one to me too. This entire mess ticks me off. He imo was railroaded on fake charges in Thailand. But the contents of his emails should cause great alarm for parents who see him around their children. Remember, in his emails to Tracey, this psycho said that he wanted to have sex with JBR in her casket. :rs: :curses:

Telling your sexual fantasies about children IS confessing to being a pedophile.

And who is this "little girl" who said Karr fondled half the class? Were charges brought? no? Why not? Sounds to me like one hell of a lot of parental outrage would ensue over this conduct and that the matter would be all part of the public record. And yet there are no police reports, no faculty coming forward, nada.

Forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical.

This whole thing is a setup and I find it absolutely fascinating that this creep is traveling around via LIMOUSINE with "two female producers." Who are these "producers?"

    Arapahoe DA facing sanctions
Chambers denies she threatened a grand jury probe

By Ivan Moreno And Katie Kerwin Mccrimmon, Rocky Mountain News
    October 7, 2006

Arapahoe County District Attorney Carol Chambers is aggressively fighting the most serious sanctions that any Colorado district attorney has faced in 20 years.

Chambers, the first-term chief prosecutor for Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties, is accused of threatening a lawyer with a criminal probe to help a fellow Republican in a dispute with a collection agency.

One of the key pieces of evidence against Chambers, legal analysts say, is a voicemail she left for Jonathan R. Steiner in which she threatens to convene a grand jury to investigate the lawyer.

Steiner was working for Central Credit Corporation, which was trying to collect money from Laurett Barrentine, a Republican Party official and Englewood City Council member.

    Bad checks alleged

The collection agency alleged she had written bad checks but later settled with her without receiving any payment.

Chambers said Friday that the Attorney Regulation Council, which works under the state Supreme Court, is investigating the wrong person.

"This has always been an interesting case to me because the Attorney Regulation Council has been turning a blind eye to the conduct of Mr. Steiner," Chambers said.

But the head of the Regulation Council said their inquiry into Chambers' conduct is warranted.

"Based on our investigation, Mr. Steiner did absolutely nothing wrong," John Gleason said. "He had a professional obligation to report what he felt was misconduct by Mrs. Chambers."

The case against Chambers will go to a three-day trial beginning Oct. 23. If found guilty, Chambers' punishment could range from a private or public admonition, to disbarment, said Gleason, adding that the harshest punishment is unlikely to be handed down.

The last time a district attorney came under such serious scrutiny was in 1985 when former Jefferson County District Attorney Nolan Brown was convicted of having two speeding tickets erased from his driving record.

Brown resigned in 1985, and the Colorado Supreme Court disbarred him a year later.

    Free legal help

According to the complaint filed in June against Chambers, Barrentine approached the DA for help during a political event in November 2005, saying Steiner refused to back off after she told him that an identity thief wrote bad checks in her name.

Chambers referred Barrentine to her husband, Nathan Chambers.

Nathan Chambers also is chairman of the Arapahoe County Republicans. He agreed to represent Barrentine for free.

A week before Central Credit dropped its case, Carol Chambers left a voicemail message for Steiner, saying he was using high-pressure tactics and that she had received several complaints.

In fact, there was only one complaint - from Barrentine, Steiner said.

Chambers went on to say that, "I am looking at investigating this with the grand jury, and I'd like to hear your input first if you'd like to make it . . . "

After receiving the message, "Steiner felt threatened and intimidated," according to the complaint. When Steiner told the vice president of operations for the collection agency, "She, too, was concerned by the District Attorney's involvement in what had appeared to them to be a routine collection action."

    Chambers doesn't buy it.

"He is trying to say that he was intimidated, but the fact is he could not take this case to trial," Chambers said. "He did not have the evidence to support it."

She said Steiner didn't bother calling Barrentine's bank to confirm whether the numbers on the check were from her account number.

    'Not a threat'

Chambers said her office was investigating various complaints from victims of identity theft who claimed collection agencies were hounding them to pay for checks they did not write.

When she called Steiner, she said, what she told him was not directed at him individually, but to other lawyers and collection agencies.

"It's not a threat," Chambers said referring to the voicemail she left Steiner. "I'm telling him what I'm doing. He specifically, and others in general."

The collections company was trying to recover money for two checks written to Wal-Mart - one for $192.15, the other for $128.17.

The counts Chambers is being investigated for include making "false or misleading statement of fact or law," threatening to prosecute Steiner, and using office "to intimidate a party in civil litigation."

Steiner would not comment on the Chambers case.

"I can tell you I'm an honest attorney," Steiner said. Other than that, he said, "I just don't want to get into this 'he said, she said.'

"It's a crazy story," he said. "I just happen to be in the middle of it."

    'Incredibly poor judgment'

Barrentine said she is not close to Chambers and did not even work on her campaign.

"I wouldn't exactly call me a powerful person. We don't lunch together. I didn't go and have a cocktail with her and come up with some devious plan. I called her as a constituent," Barrentine said.

Barrentine said she was impressed that Chambers went to bat for her against a lawyer who wouldn't stop harassing her. She said Chambers was simply doing her job and deserves respect, rather than condemnation.

Former Adams County District Attorney Bob Grant said it's rare for a district attorney to face disciplinary charges.

"It's shocking," Grant said. "And this has to do directly with her service as a prosecutor. That's just clearly one of the things that you don't go near: threatening criminal prosecution in a civil situation."

Grant, who now teaches law at the University of Denver, believes Chambers should have realized she was barreling into an ethical minefield.

"It was just incredibly poor judgment, and for a client of her husband and a political friend. There are so many red flags here that just say, 'stay away.' "

Denver lawyer and legal analyst Scott Robinson said he has some sympathy for Chambers because she was trying to help a victim of identity theft.

However, he thinks she's in "a little bit of hot water." He said no lawyer ever wants to face a disciplinary hearing, but he doubts Chambers will suffer serious punishment.

"It's not going to ruin her career. She's not going to get disbarred. She used poor judgment in going a little too far. It was probably a well-meaning, but overzealous attempt to help an innocent victim," Robinson said.

Robinson said Chambers never should have threatened criminal action.

"She used two words that nobody, short of an imbecile, wants to hear: grand jury."

    Carol Chambers

Elected in 2004, the Arapahoe County district attorney is no stranger to controversy.

    • After her election, but before taking office, Chambers argued with the Arapahoe County commissioners for reducing her salary from $147,357 to $120,000.

    • Chambers wrote defense attorneys in 2005 that an Aurora police sergeant's personnel records undermined his credibility in testifying against criminal suspects. The sergeant, Brian Saupe, had been found innocent of evidence tampering in a case prosecuted by Chambers before her election. A judge ruled in June 2005 that Chambers had done nothing wrong when Saupe sued her to stop the letters.

    • In December 2005, Chambers accused an Arapahoe County judge of retaliating against her office for complaints it filed against some judges.

    • She is currently one of the state's only high-profile prosecutors to back Amendment 40, the initiative that would impose a 10-year term limit on judges.

    What's next

    • Chambers faces a three-day trial, starting Oct. 23, before Judge William Lucero, presiding disciplinary judge of the state Supreme Court.

    • If found guilty, her punishment could range from a private or public reprimand to disbarment.

    • The disciplinary committee does not have the authority to remove Chambers from office.

    • Legal analysts predict any discipline would fall short of disbarment.

Soooo ... What EXACTLY is John Karr?

Some seem to think hir is a necropheliac and wants to sleep with corpses of dead children.

Some think hir is a transexual.

Some believe hir is a pedophile ... not your typical garden variety like Rep. Mark Foley, but some exotic, rare species.

Some think hir is dangerously delusional.

Moi? I don't know. But I WILL say that Karr would be one very rare duck if he is a false murder-confessing transexual, necropheliac pedophile who has never been accused of molesting a child or corpse. I do NOT believe that Karr ... or ANYONE ... could be all of those things. We don't even have proof that the guy ever actually possessed even MISDEMEANOR child porn!

I think BobC is close. Karr doesn't seem to have a clue as to who he is (based upon Media accounts). And in not having a clue, he becomes who he thinks people want him to be. Did he become what Wendy Hutchens and Tracey wanted him to be ... or was Karr playing THEM? Yesterday's 'visitation' to the schools with TV producers may well be evidence of Karr's malleable psyche. It's hard to know ... but what we DO know is that Karr was NOT telling predators like Tracey and Hutchens the truth.

Wendy Hutchens is clearly a sick person. And I believe that Tracey is as well (like Jambo, Maim, and other LittleHeads). Karr may well have been playing these predators in researching for a book. Hutchens, Tracey, Jambo, and Maim are ALL sick phuks with inside info in cases that Karr was said to have been researching. It wouldn't surprise me if Karr posted to Jambo as "BlueFire" to worm into Jambo's good graces. Would it surprise you? Thailand or South America? Hmmmm ...

BTW ... Trill ... I have Googled trying to find the CNN interview that you referred to where a now teenage girl claimed that Karr "rubbed" little girls. I couldn't find it. I hope that you can locate that interview and post it here, cuz I had never heard of that

Where is Karr today? My guess is that Karr is hangin' out with those other looneytoon exotics Nasty Krebs and Maim. and Tracey at the Slimy Troll Pub in Boulder ... laughing and drooling over each other's past and future antics.

More on that school visit and WHO grabbed Karr when he got out of jail:

Ex-JonBenet suspect Karr, TV producers stopped near school where Karr used to work The Associated Press

    Published: October 7, 2006

SAN FRANCISCO John Mark Karr , a one-time suspect in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, was briefly stopped by police when the former schoolteacher was spotted wandering near the classrooms of a school where he briefly worked years ago.

Sgt. Steve Mannina said a limousine carrying Karr, 41, and two producers from ABC's "Good Morning America" TV show was stopped shortly after the reported sighting Friday. Police took the names of Karr and the producers but no one was arrested because no laws were broken.

Police said an employee of the Convent of the Sacred Heart school in San Francisco, where Karr worked briefly as a teacher's aide in 2000, called police when she spotted Karr near the school.

"He stepped out of the limo and stood (outside the school) for two or three minutes, walked down the sidewalk, went up to the door and looked in the window, Mannina said of Karr.

Karr was released from jail Thursday after Sonoma County authorities lost critical evidence in a 5-year-old child pornography case. He was released a little more than a month after DNA evidence cleared him of suspicion in the slaying of child beauty queen JonBenet, whom he claimed to have been with when she died in Colorado.

Karr was returned to California from Thailand last month to face the five-year-old pornography case.
