It could also be a protective mechanism developed over the years since his sister's murder.

So Wood, a teen in high school at the time who found his mother's body, proceeded to help his father get legal help and then a "sentence" that resulted to a year in prison.

A son any murdered mother would be proud of....

.... and thought she was talking about Burke. Now that I've reread it, I realize she was talking about Wood. I shouldn't have been so nice..

 

Remember the gender bending "worm farmer" Ellique? S/he always claimed to be such good buddies with Wood. Among other puffery. Some thought that was Wood's father. Is his father still alive?

Cause if he is...and he goes to the funeral...that would make this funeral quite a demographic....

 

Issues like his intrest lies elsewhere.....neigh, can't be, him being such a stallion and all.
