    Wolfmar and Texan

Wolfmar, that is only ONE case and it's really fairly atypical. It is true that children may act out sexual situations and send up red flags, but it's is not typical of all abused children. When the abuser tells a victim to NOT TELL, most victims do NOT tell nor portray any blatant symptoms that will give definite proof that sexual abuse is taking place. There may be vague symptoms which cast suspicion, but proving it is a different matter. Take a look at the literature on this subject and though I'm glad the child you talk about was helped, it is not common for all abused children to act out to the point where abuse is discovered by those who can help.

    Texan,
As a medical person yourself, take a look JonBenet's neck -- specifically the deep ligature furrow that exists around the ENTIRE neck. Had the garotte been used as the killing device, there would have been a break in the furrow or a knot impression where the garotte was actually pulled away from her neck or the garotte was twisted -- those are the two ways that JonBenet would have died IF the garotte was used. You do not see either a break in the furrow OR a knot impression.

The cord was placed around her neck, the cord crossed, the killer had a piece of the cord in each of his hands and he pulled. That is what the autopsy pictures show. You can see where the cord was placed and moved on a coupla different places on her neck. And I agree that those defense injuries are NOT defense injuries but pet. hem. The triangular abrasion is tissue reaction to the strangulation.
