Yes. It originated in a Swamp, spread to Boulder and Atlanta. Help us Jesus, we're all going to be infected.

Cherokee, I have discounted everything said by the Thai police since their first retraction. It didn't make sense to start with for Karr to say what they claimed, if he avidly followed the case even HALF as much as we do.

All that might be allowed in court would be what is on camera, and perhaps what he said to US agents/LE. And the defense would argue vigorously to exclude that, as well, since he may have been soused or under the influence of drugs then.

Which MIGHT be why they took a blood sample, as Wood said.

    Or not.

I'm trying so hard to look at the bright side of this whole mess:

At least we are getting more clarifications like the condition of the DNA and what was degraded, what was a match (fingernails/underwear), etc., some handwriting clarifications, some forensic information out in the open

At the very least, some of the RST crap that we've been debating for years might come to an end and shut them up (at least about some things)

Fine. Just shoot me in the arm with it. It's too hard being a logical person with this insanity flying around.

There will not be a trial, kids. Not what this is about.

This is about money and fame.

Here's a quote from an article about fame in today's NY Times (I think you might need a subscription to view it):

"Adcock was later committed to a mental institution. She died in 2000, according to an obituary in the Pittsburgh, Pa., Post-Gazette."

If this is true, that Karr's mother suffered from such violent mental illness, it could well be hereditary. That would explain Karr's obvious mental decompensation over the last few years. I'm also wondering if he was taking massive doses of hormones for that sex change operation he wanted. That would certainly screw up his thinking as well, coupled with his underlying issues, and they are many.

    Barbara,

That's a Southern Gothic tale for sure. Straight out of Flannery O'Connor.

Goodness, ain't it the truth? This story just gets sicker and sicker. Wonder which Hollywood screenwriter is busy burning the midnight oil pumping out a nice little movie to be made from all this crap? Of course, the ending can't be written yet...if ever... :snake:

    Karr and the fanstasy

Aug. 22, 2006 — Five years ago, few Americans had ever heard of John Mark Karr, the man now under arrest for the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. But Wendy Hutchens says she knew him well. Back in 2001, she says, he told her some of his innermost thoughts.

The conversations with Hutchens depict a man overtaken by his attraction to young girls. "They're so beautiful some of them … just overwhelming, dripping with attractiveness."

"I can see through the eyes of the person who stopped the life of [JonBenet] … as easily as … if I did it myself," he says. Hutchens ended up with hours of taped conversations with a man she says is Karr. ABC News has exclusively obtained one hour of the tapes, and the hour reveals a man obsessed with young girls and deeply confused about his own life.

"There were things that he wanted to share that he had never been able to share with anybody," Hutchens tells ABC News. Those things included thoughts about JonBenet Ramsey and graphic descriptions of his desire for young girls. "She was just so, so incredible in life and so unreal in death," the man in the recording says of JonBenet Ramsey.

    [snip]

He says of the Ramsey's home in Boulder, Colo., "The house is absolutely just dripping with her sweet little tortured spirit, what a tortured spirit."

"Maybe that person who did that … thinks it's important that someone confesses. … And he's chosen that other person to do that in his place. …"

    [snip]

He also speaks of having a relationship with JonBenet and Polly Klaas that reaches beyond the grave. He believed he could interact with the spirit of the young girls by using psychic powers.

Psychologists: Be Careful of What's Fact and What's Fantasy

Forensic specialists like Jack Trimarco see Karr's obsession with young girls as more than desire-driven arousal.

"He's not necessarily a child molester, but he may be a mind who is obviously tormented," Trimarco tells ABC News.

"He needs attention, and he's even willing to get that attention by saying, 'I've done this awful thing, kinda.' He's saying he loved her, he said it was an accident."

Karr's drive toward young girls may be fueled by a lack of self-esteem — a quality that comes through clearly in the recorded conversations.

    [snip]

All the attention that comes from being a suspect in JonBenet's death may feed into the obsessions that stand out in the taped conversations.

"Just by being the suspect, the fantasy becomes real. Now more people are involved — the police, the authorities, the media," Gaston says. "All this reinforces Karr's fantasy."

As forensic specialist Trimarco observes, "Now there will always be a bond in history between JonBenet Ramsey and John Mark Karr."

Very plausible explanation. I believe that Karr has gotten so obsessed with JonBenet that he fantasized himself both into the role of the perp and the victim. Not at all unlikely, considering his childhood history which obviously was a nightmare.

Ummm, how much clearer does it have to get? Karr's delusional bonding with JonBenet and her suffering is abundantly clear to the extent that he likely feels compelled to take responsibility in some fashion for it. IF Karr was just a participant in the events but was not the one who actually assaulted and killed JB, perhaps he believes he's the chosen one to stand in the killer's stead. Confession they say is good for the soul.

hmmmm....so in the Hutchins tapes he doesn't say he killed JonBenet?

It's been opined on Fox today that Lacy went after Karr because she was worried about him being a teacher.....and she'll not charge him unless the DNA matches.

How can the DNA "match" anyone? Or have I missed something? Was there a DNA sample that wasn't degraded?

    I'm thinking.....

Was this supposed to go down before Patsy died? Was Tracey setting this guy up to take the fall to exonerate Patsy (and John)? Oh, how I would love to read MTs e-mails to Karr. Just how much about Karr did the Slimey Limey know about? Any communication between Tracey and this Hutchins woman?

And where does the media get off describing Karr as a pedo?? Has there ever been an accusation that he molested anyone??

    In one word ... no.

Please see DNA thread for details. Lacy is merely grasping at straws hoping that the few alleles they have (less than nine), will match. The ridiculous thing is ... even if THOSE eight or nine alleles match, they can't convict him on it ... because they are still missing the other four alleles for a full MINIMUM complement of 13!

Who is this freaky woman on CTV?? OMG....

The $118,000 wasn't the amt. of JR's bonus.....not even close. Erroneous info put out there and never refuted......by the Ramsey haters.....according to Smit!

And unless Karr was handcuffed to his wife all of Dec. 25-26, she can't possibly know where he was! According to this freaky woman.
