a question for the forum members.........

check out the post above that niner made.

she quoted line 25 from one of the transcripts.

patsy said, "i was on the floor calling 911."

    here are my numerous questions:

first of all......which transcript did this quote come
    from?

did you all know that patsy was sitting on the floor
    when she called 911?

i thought the phone they used that day
was a phone on the wall in another room nearby.
did anyone ever measure to see if the phone
cord could be stretched out to the bottom of those stairs?

or was patsy sitting on the floor in that phone room?
what kind of room was it?
was there a chair in that room?

did the circular staircase have a handrailing?
were the steps carpeted? or tiled? or what?

did the staircase have a light switch to turn
on or off on the top of the stairs....or
at the bottom of the stairs?

did patsy turn on the light to come down the stairs?

is it true that patsy found the ransom note on the
third step from the bottom floor?

is it true that patsy stepped over the note?

or is it true that she leaned over to look at it?
or did she twist around to read it?

is it true that patsy thought the note was
from the housekeeper thinking the housekeeper
    wanted to borrow some money?

was patsy full dressed when she read the note?
did she have on her "travel" shoes for the day
    or houseshoes?

hold old was patsy when jonbenet was murdered?

is it true they NEVER found fingerprints on the ransom
note? or if some were found......whose were they?

was the note on the step 2 pages?
was the note found with one page on top of the other?
or was the note found "spread out" with the 2 pages side
    by side on the step?

did anyone ever check to see if there were any heat/air
    ducts around this area?
    a ceiling fan?

are these the only stairs to the upstairs?
did patsy go up these stairs to go home?
was she the last one to go up these stairs?
or did john go to bed first?

please answer any or all of these questions for me.
i hate to admit it, but i dont know all the facts in this case.
i am sure i have read the facts before.....about all of this, but
they are not in my memory bank anymore.....

ok.....now after reading these questions........and knowing the answers.....or not knowing the answers......

follow me along with my logic..........or your logic
and put yourself in her place.

if you just woke up and were coming down your
familiar stairs early in the morning and you still needed
to pack for the day.....to get things read for a trip.....and.......maybe you were a little groggy.....

would you turn on the lights to the staircase
not to wake anyone else up?

or are you so familiar with the staircase that you
can walk down the staircase and then
turn on the light in the kitchen?

would you even see the ransom note on the stairs?
would you step on the pages even if you saw them?
would you hold on to the hand railing and not
step on the step that had the papers?

if you have an upstairs? do you sometimes
put shoes or other items you want to carry upstairs
later....on the steps of the stairs?

would you NOT pick up the note to read it
if you didnt know what was in the note?

wouldnt you be curious about the pages
if you were the last person to go up the
stairs at night...and hadnt left anything on the steps
    the night before?

wouldnt your first reaction be to pick up the pages
    to see what they were?

would you NOT read the note if the note was
addressed to your husband and not to you?

i have lots more questions.......and you might
even think of more questions about this
specific event that day.......but i will stop here and
    give you my comments.

if i was coming down the stairs really early in the morning
on a day i was planning to travel......i might be very groggy.
i hate getting up early.......but.......ususally if i am going
on a trip somewhere......i get kind of hyper...and my body
wakes up on time.....and i am mentally prepared to be
"up" for the day to get things going......so i can get on the road.

if i saw something on the stairs that were not on the
stairs when i came up the night before....i would be
VERY curious as to what was in the note.......and i
would pick up the note to read it... to see if it was for me........

but if it was NOT for me......and addressed to my mom or dad....or anyone else......
i would NOT read it....we just dont do that in our family...
letters and open letters and journals and diaries laying about.....are PRIVATE......

and i would think.....or someone just put this on the stairs
    to carry up later......

and i am not nosey enough to read them.....or i might
be nosey and ask the person what that was all about.
there is no right or wrong answer to this......just
    what would you do?

and i would not be turning on the light because
i am so familiar with my steps i can walk them in the dark.
i wouldnt turn on the light because i would know others
are asleep......and wouldnt be getting up for hours later.

and in the dark i might not see the pages and i might
    even step on them.....

but if i saw them.....i WOULD pick them up out
.....pick them up with my hands......and i know
my fingerprints would be on them!!!!!

if the pages were addressed to me.........
i would pick them up and take them to the kitchen
so i could sit down to read them.....sit down in a chair.....
with the lights on in the kitchen......and be drinking
my first cup of coffee reading the note......because
i would NOT know it was a kidnapping note.......!!!!!!!!

if i had gotten fully dressed for the day........
and then read the note.....and then found out
it was a kidnapping note.......i would NOT sit
down on the floor......no matter how shaken i was........

oh by the way, i would have read the whole note...
and read it more than once to see if what
i read was really what i thought it said.

i would have the note trembling in my hand....as i called 911
to have it as a handy reference to tell the 911 operator.
again, fingerprints would be on the note.

or......i would go running upstairs with the note in my hand
to show my husband...and wake him.......or first i would
go to see if my child had truly been taken.........then
if she were gone....i would immediately go see if
my other child was there....and wake them ......to see
if they knew anything......if this was a joke.......if
they had heard or seen anything!!!!!!

would you stoop over your stairs/steps to read a note?
wouldnt YOU pick it up to read?

if you were a CEO of a company.....would you
    stoop over to read anything???

or would only a guilty person who knew what was in the note.....
and knew NOT to put fingerprints on the note......
stoop over to read the note?

let's say you did read the note and call 911 and from the anquish
    you fell to the floor........

wouldnt the sound of the call sound different?
this may be a weird analogy....but
when i was in choir.....we would mostly stand up to sing.....
and not be sitting down....because you sound different
when you sing sitting down versus standing up.
i really think patsy would have "sounded" different
on the telephone if she was indeed sitting on the floor.

if you had on an outfit to wear for traveling.....would you
    sit on the floor?
were any fibers found on the floor?
could you tell the way the dust was disturbed if
she really sat on the floor?

if there were an air duct/heater duct near there......
and of course the heat was on that night because
it was december and very cold.......would not
the circulating air.....have moved those pages?
made them fly into the air? something?

in my "den" that has my computer desk...is also a twin bed.....
its a guest room.....there is an open side table by the twin bed
    and a heat duct under it.....when i leave papers/documents
on the side table....and the heat comes on with the air /fan blowing
    the papers get scattered sometimes.....
especially if there were 2 pages all alone....with nothing/no weight on top of them.

i have some other thoughts on this i will share later
after i get some feedback from all the forum members.....

the first moments of this so-called kidnapping were
unbelievable to me.....to say the least.

thanks to niner for that quote....it got me thinking.

i NEVER had pictured patsy sitting on the floor
    for the 911 call.....did you?

purrfectly amazed at all the strange happenings in this case,

    The Ransom Note

    purr,

Patsy said, that wall sconces lit the stairway.

If, I was on my way down the stairs and see papers there I know I would push them to the side with my foot or maybe step on them so I could get by.

I'm not graceful enough to skip over a few steps, especially a spiral stair case.

I would just think someone dropped some papers, no way I would think it was a note or ransom note. Anyway, I wouldn't be able to read that far away, unless the text was very large.

But, when I got pass the papers and could turn around I definitely would pick them up. Even if I knew it was a note or a ransom note.

I would have ran to JB's room to see if it was a joke or what.
When I saw JB wasn't in her bed I would have went to BR's room.
If I didn't see her there, I would have woke BR and asked where JB was.
My first thought would be, he would know where she was, being kids I would think JB followed BR around the house.

I guarantee you, by that time, everyone in the house would be awake. Maybe a few neighbors also.

Noway would I have left BR alone, I would have kept my baby close. After all, that's what she told the the TV audience to do.

I wonder, what was behind the story, BR never woke up.
Why, would they feel the need to lie?? :-(

    you see kk, your instincts.........

    make sense.........

what a normal person would do.......!

    my point exactly........!!!!!!

    what patsy said she did.......
    makes NO sense.......

    and is not logical.

    anyone want to answer
    what they would do.

    also, anyone else have answers
    to my questions.

    thanks for you input kk,

i thought of starting a thread too.........

    kk...........but i had 2nd thoughts about it.
because i am sure my thoughts are
not new thoughts on this subject.
    just something rehashed...but
they are new ideas/thoughts to me.

did you know that patsy was sitting
on the floor when she made that 911 call?

    anyway, thanks for your thanks.

Hi purr - thought I'd pop in here and let you know 'where' I found this quote. It's from Spade's posting on the first page of this thread under 0606 on Nov. 9th at 8:08pm; if you printed out that page - it would be on page 14 of 26, at least for me!

not i!! first I 'heard' about that until I read this!! that's why I'm asking everyone else here if this is the FIRST time you've read, heard about this!!:)

yes, they were - but there were 3 pages!;)

actually - yes... I would begin reading it and start going to the kitchen to make coffee - and depending where I was in the letter (!)-NOT a note to me- I would stark running up those stairs check her room, run to other child's room - DEFINITELY!! waking them up and asking questions!!:D

    Ditto!:)

BUT! it said don't cal police, FBI... I would definitely discuss this with my huz and since he works for a govenment defense contractor - call THEIR security!

yes I WOULD pick it up... why wouldn't you?? :-( there could NOT have been THAT much light there! or else she had EXCELLENT eye sight! not me!:D

I would NOT be on the floor in my 'good' christmas outfit, but then who knows....:-(

What Patsy writes in "Death of Innocence"

For comparison here's what Patsy writes in "Death of Innocence" Paperback - pages 11-12 Patsy talks about running up to tell John that JonBenét is missing. He asks about Burke as he's running down the stairs. They race to Burke's room, find him asleep, decide to leave him alone and John continues running downstairs in his underwear.

By the time Patsy gets to him he's on the floor with the ransom note spread before him under the ceiling hall lights of the back hall.

Patsy: "What do we do? I stammer.
    He shouts. "Call the police."
    "Are you sure?"
    "Yes, call them."

Standing next to the wall phone, I instantly dial 911, and try to make the voice on the other end understand. ... ... ...

If all of the above happened, it doesn't make much sense to place the ransom note on the floor under the ceiling lights. Better to hold them in his hand standing up closer to the lights, don't you think? Plus they never even bothered to check under Burke's bed according to this account - to check and see if anyone was
hiding under it and ready to attack Burke. I think while they were staging the scene, they forgot about these important facts.

    Patsy sitting on the floor

    purr,
I didn't know about the floor thing. How many different transcripts are there?

If I remember correctly, and I may not, I don't remember
Patsy mentioning going to check on BR until she was
    questioned about doing so.

Patsy favorite word's *kinda* *like* *sort of*
*I don't remember* *whatnot* *you know*.

    I'm sure there's more.

I wonder if JR needs reading glasses? If so, I wonder
if he had those in his jameeeee's pocket just in case
had to read a letter, note. :D

does anyone know how to copy these

posts to start a new thread on this subject.....??????
starting with niners quote from the transcript
where it says patsy is sitting on the floor.

    anyone?

and what would you name this new thread?

    rehashing old evidence?
a new look at old evidence?

i dont care what it is named......but
kk is right....we need a new thread about all of this
but i want the info that is already in these posts
to be copied over and read.

    hey niner, thanks again.
    and thanks for your replies.

they make so sense .......all of them.......
    so logical.

and of course i wasnt thinking...
i needed to think this all out from the
point of being a wife of a man
who is a CEO of a company that
    has incredible security......

NONE of what they did makes sense!

    are they lying?
    duh!

i am reading LIttle's new book......
and i have another discovery about some old evidence......
i guess all the evidence is old......
so how do i say this to make sense.
i have some questions and observations
about old evidence that i didnt know was evidence.
    whatever.

i am excited to talk about it too....and
    ask for input from others.

niner, you copied things i had put in other posts........
can you start a new thread....and copy everything over.

    i would be much obliged!

thanks to the other for their comments too.
this is all so fascinating......and for some reason
i never get tired of hearing all the ins and outs
    of this unsolved mystery.

there is a show on tv called "cold cases".
i think that is the name of it.

the other night they solved a 43 year old murder case.
so amazing.......especially when they knocked on the
door of the man who did it......he said.....
"you are herer about that from all those years ago???"
boy was he surprised they finally got him....and
he got put away for the rest of his life.....!!!!

    praying for justice for jonbenet......someday!

    purrfectly purring,
    purr
